Job Purpose

Oversee and execute mechanical maintenance related activities including review of Prime Contract (PC)\'s maintenance documentation and deliverables, development of mechanical maintenance documents, programs, processes and procedures, and support of licensing to ensure that the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) equipment performance and material condition support safe and reliable plant operation.

Mechanical Maintenance
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Support in the implementation maintenance procedures to provide a high level of plant reliability.
  • Support the development and implementation of maintenance programs to provide a knowledgeable and experienced field perspective.
  • Review pressure controller mechanical maintenance related documentation including maintenance and test procedures, drawings, test reports, equipment and tool list, spare parts and consumable list, etc.(prior to turnover) to ensure operational readiness.
  • Verify that the Supplemental workers comply with Conduct of Maintenance standards and expectations to ensure that the capability to perform high quality work is present.
  • Verify pressure controller mechanical maintenance deliverables fully meet the contractual requirements in a timely manner (prior to turnover) to ensure organizational excellence.
  • Support the Licensing Function in Nawah with regard to the operating licensing activities related to BNPP mechanical maintenance activities to ensure that licenses reflect accurate requirements and conditions.
  • Verify that work is planned and executed in a manner that results in radiological exposure being As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) to provide a safe working environment.
  • Support the management of maintenance contracts implementation to ensure alignment between contractual obligations and mechanical maintenance requirements.
  • Support the maintenance contractors\' performance reviews to ensure contractor(s) performance meet maintenance requirements within Nawah.
  • Support Senior Management on technical issues that affect the maintenance contractors\' performance to facilitate contractors\' ability to meet mechanical maintenance requirements.
  • Provide contractual compliance data and support the Strategic Contracts Performance, Finance, Legal and Procurement departments with issues related to the maintenance contractors to ensure organizational excellence.
  • Support efforts to implement relevant Operations Management System (OMS) modules related to Maintenance Programs to improve implementation success
  • Execute troubleshooting process on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure that issues are resolved correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Implement foreign material exclusion (FME) program in accordance with the program requirements and guidelines to ensure plant safety and reliability.

Quality Assurance
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Verify that all work carried out is of the highest standards of safety and quality, and in compliance with the department and company-wide quality assurance program, to effectively support safe and reliable plant operation.
  • Oversee the maintenance contractors performing mechanical maintenance tasks to ensure alignment of mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Participate in continuous learning and application of industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of maintenance workmanship.
  • Identify and respond to maintenance quality related issues and plant equipment deficiencies to line management to support rapid resolution of quality issues.

Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Support outage and/or the emergency response organization, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support

The incumbent is expected to perform standard activities as per attachments 4 & 5 in the procedure (relating to Health, Safety and Environment, Security and Business Continuity, People Management, Excellence and Quality Management
Minimum
N/A

Preferred
  • Technical certificates in the related job area.
Minimum
  • High School Certification.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • 10 years nuclear power plant operating experience of which:
  • 7 years are in the mechanical field.
