Position Overview
This Senior Mechanical Engineer role in Dubai focuses on stormwater drainage systems, pumping stations, and mechanical infrastructure supervision. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all mechanical works related to stormwater networks, pumping stations, and associated installations.
  • Review and approve mechanical shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions in line with approved specifications.
  • Develop and implement QA/QC procedures including inspection and test plans and commissioning protocols.
  • Conduct inspections for pumps, valves, piping, flow meters, mechanical screens, penstocks, actuators, and related systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, DEWA, RTA, and other applicable UAE standards.
  • Oversee mechanical testing and commissioning activities including performance tests and final handover documentation.
  • Monitor progress of mechanical site activities and report delays, deviations, and required corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with the design team for clarifications, RFIs, and technical resolutions.
  • Verify integration between civil, structural, electrical, and control system interfaces.
  • Review as-built documentation and ensure accuracy before handover.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning events for mechanical systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements including confined-space and lifting operations.
  • Assist in evaluating contractor claims, variations, and change requests.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and inspectors in quality and safety best practices.
Ideal Profile
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in supervising mechanical works for stormwater, pumping stations, and infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional registration such as CEng or ASME membership is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of RTA, DM, DEWA, and other Dubai authority requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors, technical documentation, and site progress effectively.
