Overview:
Our Senior Logistics Manager will be responsible for running and implementing the best in class logistics and distributions solutions across the region in hte areas of Warehousing, Transportation and Customs.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manages the company\xe2\x80\x99s capacity to grow the business by controlling the overall freight, transportation and warehousing functions based on business plans.
  • Develops service providers\xe2\x80\x9d strategies and manage relationships to optimize the group\xe2\x80\x99s strategies, processes and services for service recipients and clients.
  • Provides advice, direction and thought leadership on Supply Chain trends, processes and technologies.
  • Work to maximize compliance with the Logistics strategies, minimize commercial risk and create the most cost effective and competitive corporate solution.
  • Ensures development and implementation of operational strategies to achieve business goals, operational efficiency, and satisfaction of the key stakeholders. Maintains reliable, timely, efficient, and competitive logistics operations.
  • Review and update the service providers\xe2\x80\x99 contracts with an objective to reduce cost and improve service excellence level.
  • Evaluate in-house logistics capabilities and assets to conduct operations model feasibility (Outsourced Vs In-house).
  • Set the group\xe2\x80\x99s strategic logistical objectives and ensure achieving them.
  • Review / Approve or prepare policies and standard operating procedures (SOP) of the group and individual companies.
  • Develop and maintain a reliable network of carriers of specific type of transport (bulk, dumper, hopper, dry box, liquid, and container, pallets) in order to provide fast and competitive Services to other departments.
  • Coordinates Logistics management including resource planning at the group and entities levels, guide scheduling and operation management.
  • Leads and develops the different legal entities including division\xe2\x80\x99s Logistics Team to ensure that the right people, processes, systems and metrics are in place to support operation, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement & Sales departments on a day-to-day basis; Planning, balancing and constantly readjusting inbound product movement according to trans-loading, storage capacity, production capacity, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and monitor with commodity suppliers for the transportation and movement of goods for importing and exporting.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Logistics service providers and agents.
  • Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity in a cost-effective manner including booking and coordinating inbound and outbound freight;
  • Drives continuous improvement, best value and quality improvements within the team and departments in challenging existing practices and actively seek ways to achieve better outcomes, contributing to ensure key performance and financial targets are met and corrective action taken where necessary.
  • Monitor holds or discrepancies in the movement of goods and notify all relevant stakeholders especially customer service and the customer.
  • Negotiate and organize inbound and outbound rates with carriers (select/replace carriers to meet the objectives, resolve issues with carriers, during and after business hours)
  • Communicate with Road, Rail, and Sea freight carriers and subcontractors.
  • Resolve problems, provide ongoing support, and be proactive with services. Gathering of claim documents and facts if claims are involved.
  • Remain responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of the movement of shipments; resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner. Review files before closing to ensure all processes are adhered to.
  • Drives contracts negotiations on complex, high value, Logistical business critical matters
  • Ensures effective and efficient management of all warehouses, both internal and external, by ensuring proper handling and safekeeping of inventory items and providing accurate, complete, and on-time inventory reports.
  • Manage the Roll out of logistics solutions such as; warehouse management system, Transportation management system, route planning and optimization tools, delivery tracking and management, etc.. Across the group.
  • Improve the senior management visibility and control over inventory in a single global view.
  • Prepares Annual and Midyear departmental and freight budgets; and endorses to the top management.
  • Review the entities logistical budget and advice the entities and the Group senior management accordingly.
  • Reviews and Analyzes monthly expense variance reports; and gets answers for these variances (by involving team as well);
  • Develops new cost cutting measures whilst balancing customer service;
  • Does material variance analysis on a regular basis;
  • Continually analyze Service Providers Performance.
  • Overall responsibility of coordinating all Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) initiatives as per governance framework within respective departments
  • Facilitate Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Risk Assessment (RA) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) development meetings and ensure involvement of appropriate team members
  • Responsible for recovering or resuming operations during crisis situation.
  • Provide coaching to employees and peers. Coach to develop skills, deepen learning, improve performance and develop the individual.
  • Leads and develops a high performing team that tries to exceed agreed objectives via continuous improvement, constantly adding value.

Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in relevant field
  • 15 years in the field of leading logistics functions.
  • Experience in implementing logistics systems (WMS, TMS, etc..)
  • Well versed with logistics functions in global market
  • Experience with Incoterms, payment terms, and commercial operations.
  • Successful UAE/Middle-East logistics management experience.
  • Contract management skills
