Apple is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Manager, Government Affairs to work both with the Head of Government Affairs for Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) to lead government and institutional engagement and the Senior Director for Eurasia & Africa (EAA) on strategic initiatives.
Description
The Senior Manager Government Affairs EAA & GCC will lead on crafting deep analysis of the dynamics and trends shaping countries in Eurasia & Africa. You will lead engagement with external international institutions and associations on strategic issues and advocate for conducive operating environments. On GCC, you will be representing Apple's position with policy makers, influencers and trade associations working closely with the Director for GCC. You will build relationships and liaise with internal stakeholders to build knowledge, advocacy strategies and achieve results.
Responsibilities

• GCC:
• Support GCC lead on strategy in the GCC region, map and prioritize government stakeholders by issues, strategic projects and lines of business.
• Key advisor to GCC Lead on Economics and Politics in region. Prioritize engagement according to Apple internal and external priorities.
• Build, enhance and maintain Apple's relationships with key government stakeholders. Manage Apple's government engagement and implement engagement strategies.
• Network internally to disseminate information, as well a gather expert input. Advise internal stakeholders on political and cultural landscape and provide solutions.
• Proactively identify policy developments in GCC and assess their impact on Apple
• Represent Apple's position with government and policy makers to maximize regulatory opportunities and eliminate/minimize threats.
• Support Expansion initiatives in priority countries.
• Collaborate with GA team and cross-functional colleagues to develop Apple's positions and strategies regarding key policy issues.
• Participate in trade associations to represent Apple's views and interests.
• Eurasia & Africa:
• Lead analyses on macroeconomic, monetary policy and geopolitical trends shaping the EAA region.
• Provide thought leadership and strategic advice to senior leadership on these critical issues.
• Present to internal senior stakeholders to help business and operations decision making.
• Collaborate with GA team and cross-functional colleagues to develop Apple's positions and strategies regarding key policy issues.
• Participate in international institutions and trade associations to represent Apple.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD Degree in Macroeconomics, Monetary Policy and/or Investment.
• 10+ years of professional experience in Research, Finance, Government and International institutions.
• Deep understanding of macroeconomic principles, monetary policies, financial markets and geopolitical dynamics, and of the regulatory and policy environment that impacts Apple
• Strong analytical and research skills with proven experience in managing complex macroeconomics research projects.
• Knowledge of developing economics FX and Treasure matters.
• Strong understanding of digital assets and currencies and their impact on government monetary policy.
• Deep knowledge of political landscape, and policy building in EAA.
• Experience in driving and leading trade association activity.
