Chase Resourcing are delighted to announce that we are recruiting a Senior Manager to work in the Curriculum Development Unit (Engineering) for a major client of ours in the U.A.E. Our client is seeking to appoint a professional to be responsible for the overall development and implementation of the Curriculum. The candidate will be responsible for alignment of the Curriculum within acceptable standards for each subject area and ensure that the curriculum is appropriate for preparing students for successfully completing advanced placement courses. The candidate will also be responsible for planning, coordinating and providing staff development to ensure faculty and staff remain current in curricular and pedagogical changes.Key Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Manager (Curriculum Development Unit-Engineering) include:Curriculum DevelopmentOversee curriculum alignment to standards, correcting overlaps and omissions, and ensuring appropriate horizontal and vertical articulationOversee the curriculum review cycleOversee the development and maintenance of a uniform curriculum formatOversea the maintenance of curriculum bindersAssist Lead Teachers in annual curriculum review and updateUndertake five-year curriculum review for each discipline involving literature review, program assessment, data analysis, materials review, and developing the proposalBring curriculum review proposals to the administration and board approval process and oversea their implementationAssist Lead teachers in identifying and addressing annual goalsOversee development and implementation of policies related to curriculumMeet with individual teachers to discuss curriculum related issues and progressNetwork with curriculum specialistsSubmits a monthly update to the DirectorWorks with the technology team to facilitate the integration of technology into the curriculum.Assessment Assist teachers in matching appropriate assessment instruments to curriculum objectivesAssist teachers in developing student exemplars and establishing clearly articulated assessment standardsAssure uniformity in assessment and reporting standardsCoordinate a programme of standardized testing for all GradesProvide leadership and direction in the use of assessment data for the improvement of student learningAnalyze data from standardized tests to improve teaching and student learningMonitor and review homeworkMake recommendations to Admin Committee on assessment related issuesDevelop and update handbooks of assessment, evaluation and reporting strategies and policies for each schoolCurriculum ResourcesMaintain detailed and accurate inventories of curriculum resources (tests, supplies and equipment)Assist Curriculum Specialists and teachers in the selection and purchase of curriculum resourcesMaintain comprehensive and systematic collection of catalogues to assist the resource selectionsDevelop and oversea the purchasing process for curriculum resourcesDevelop department budgets and work with principals and department Curriculum Specialists on establishing purchasing prioritiesWork with publishing companies to ensure a broad range of samples for new program adaptationsEnsure all courses are fully resourced from the start of the school yearOversea the work of the purchasing officer in developing purchase orders, soliciting and selecting bids from suppliers, confirming and tracking the status of orders, tracking department budgetsOversee development and implementation of policies related to curriculum resourcesCollect and analyse data, prepare scheduled and special reports, maintain program/project records and statistical informationProfessional DevelopmentPlan, organize, coordinate and evaluate program of professional developmentConduct workshops, conferences and other training sessionsConduct professional development needs analyses and plans accordinglyConsult with department curriculum specialists on department needsOversee faculty records of professional development opportunitiesNetwork with regional organizations in planning conferences and speakers in support of school initiativesKeep abreast of current trends in curriculum, assessment and instruction through participation in workshops, conferences, seminars, and through professional literature.Model high standards for professional developmentOversee development and implementation of policies and procedures related to professional developmentMaintain a professional libraryMaintain memberships of professional organizations for each department and route their publications to the relevant facultyEvaluate the feasibility of specific training requestsWrite proposals for new training programsParticipate in ongoing professional staff development experiences as a means of enhancing the instructional support provided to teachersAccreditation:Chair the steering committee overseeing all activities related to accreditationDevelop committeesMonitor committees, including soliciting and reviewing membership, developing agenda, responding to meeting minutes, writing recognition lettersSet and maintain timelines for tasksSchedule in-service daysCoordinate development and administration of surveysCompile survey reportsReview, respond to, edit and publishing all reportsCoordinate collection of supporting evidenceSchedule team visitReport progress to the community including presentations, news articles, and lettersProduce weekly reportsRequirements of the Senior Manger (Curriculum Development Unit- Engineering):A Bachelors Degree in Engineering. A Master's degree in Curriculum and Assessment.Previous experience in educational administration not less than five years.Teaching experience not less than five years.(within science or engineering)Computer knowledge and experience including online/distance education preferredPrevious participation in accreditation exercisesPreferably overseas experience in education
