Purpose

The Senior Manager, Billing oversees and directs the day-to-day operations of the billing system, ensuring services work reliably and securely, and leads technical experts that maintain and develop the system, respond to help desk escalations, and monitor system stability and performance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight and management to the Application team to deliver requisite services.
  • Act as a focal point for communicating related system problems within the department(s) and collaborate with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes, and updates.
  • Manage the release process for applications which includes effective department wide and end user communication.
  • Collaborate with the team on application architecture design and decision-making.
  • Manage testing scripts and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Set and measure performance and behaviour objectives and provide regular one-on-one feedback to all members of the team.
  • Monitor for irregularities and performance issues and assess system data and error logs, along with user reports, to determine areas for improvement or repair.
  • Manage upgrades as required and agreed with broader IT team and wider business units.
  • Manage service desk escalations.
  • Coordinate with the Demand Management/Delivery Program for any new project delivery.
  • Work with the ERP Change Manager to follow the change management/ control framework.
  • Manage relationship with vendor and vendor partner for detailed technical support as required.
  • Assess requests from business, interpret and provide functional requirement to the vendor.
  • Carry out Impact Assessments.
  • Manage Billing System activities in the ERP change management process.
  • Manage Billing System activities of Infrastructure change management (security, patching, server sizing/resources).
  • Billing System Release Management
  • Approve releases (weigh downtime vs benefit and risks)
  • CAB submissions and attendance
  • Triage issues encountered by the business, perform root cause analysis on issues and propose solutions.
  • Manage defects, incidents, and support requests with vendor.
  • Manage activities around IT general controls, SOX compliance, e.g., Quarterly recovery testing, SOX control evidence.
  • Managing the request for estimates and implementation & testing of CRs.
  • Manage the collation of audit details required from the vendor.
  • Escalation and investigation of incidents.
  • Prioritisation of work among billing support team.
  • CRs - approval of new & temp instances for special projects.

Qualifications

Education
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
Experience
  • 5+ Years experience as IT Operation Manager or IT Application Manager.
  • Experience in the billing module.
  • Knowledge of enterprise applications.
  • Hands-on experience with system administration.
