Position Overview

The Senior IT Manager (FX & CFDs) will oversee the design, implementation, and management of trading platforms and IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance. This role requires expertise in MT4/MT5, liquidity management, FIX API connectivity, risk systems, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between technology, trading, and operations teams while leading IT strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Strategy & Leadership

Define and execute IT strategy aligned with business growth in FX & CFDs. Lead IT teams across infrastructure, development, and support. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service-level agreements (SLAs).

2. Trading Platform Management

Oversee MT4/MT5 server environments, upgrades, and optimizations. Ensure smooth integration between liquidity providers (LPs), exchanges, and back-office systems. Manage FIX API, bridge solutions, and risk management tools. Monitor system performance, latency, and execution quality.

3. Infrastructure & Security

Maintain secure, redundant, and scalable IT infrastructure (servers, databases, cloud). Implement cybersecurity policies, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans. Conduct regular system audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations (MiFID II, ESMA, FCA, CySEC, DFSA, etc.).

4. Stakeholder & Regulatory Support

Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to IT governance. Provide IT expertise for regulatory reporting, data protection, and audit requirements. Liaise with senior management on technology roadmap and budgeting.

5. Key Requirements

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Experience: 7-10+ years of IT management experience in financial services, FX, or CFDs trading industry. Trading Platforms: Strong expertise in MT4/MT5 server administration, plugins, and bridge solutions. Connectivity: Hands-on experience with FIX API, liquidity provider (LP) integrations, and OMS/EMS platforms. Infrastructure: Proven background in networking, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), databases (SQL/NoSQL). Security & Compliance: Deep knowledge of cybersecurity, disaster recovery, business continuity, and financial regulatory requirements (FCA, CySEC, DFSA, ASIC, ESMA, etc.). Leadership: Strong team leadership, project management, and vendor management skills. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot low-latency trading systems and IT infrastructure issues quickly under pressure.

6. Preferred Skills

Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architecture. Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD pipelines, automation tools, and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell). Knowledge of risk management systems (A/B book routing, liquidity aggregation, exposure monitoring). Exposure to algorithmic trading infrastructure and low-latency networking optimization. Strong understanding of data protection regulations (GDPR, data residency laws). Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (dealing desk, risk, compliance, development). Ability to translate business requirements into IT strategies that support growth and scalability
