Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Senior Inventory Accountant to join our finance team. This pivotal role is responsible for the complete integrity of our inventory accounting function. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional who ensures accurate valuation, robust controls, and insightful analysis to support our operational and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory Accounting & Control:
• Oversee and manage all daily inventory accounting transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and adjustments.
• Perform regular and month-end inventory reconciliations between the ERP system (Tally) and physical stock counts.
• Lead the monthly/quarterly/year-end closing processes related to inventory, including calculating and posting valuation adjustments.
• Maintain the accuracy of standard costs and investigate significant variances.
• Valuation & Reporting:
• Execute inventory valuation in accordance with company policy and IFRS standards (FIFO, Weighted Average).
• Prepare detailed inventory reports, cost analyses, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management.
• Analyze inventory aging, obsolescence, and slow-moving items, providing recommendations for action.
• Audit & Compliance:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external audits for all inventory-related matters.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures over the inventory cycle.
• Implement and monitor cycle counting programs to ensure perpetual inventory accuracy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with the Procurement, Warehouse, and Project Management teams to validate material movements and project costs.
• Coordinate with the operations team to understand material requirements and consumption patterns.
• Partner with the finance team to provide accurate inventory data for cost of goods sold (COGS) and balance sheet reporting.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CMA, CA, ACCA) is a significant plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or a similar role.
• Prior experience within the wastewater treatment, industrial manufacturing, engineering, or environmental services sector is highly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Tally ERP is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and inventory valuation methods (FIFO, Weighted Average Cost).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with non-finance departments.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
