Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor with a civil engineering

background to join our internal audit function for a leading client in Dubai. The ideal

candidate will possess deep technical and financial auditing knowledge, strong

analytical capabilities, and fluency in both Arabic and English. This position requires

immediate availability and offers a one-year contract, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

? Conduct comprehensive internal audits across construction projects and

business units to ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and

procedures.

? Evaluate project cost structures, contract management, procurement practices,

and site operations to detect inefficiencies, risks, or irregularities.

? Review engineering project documentation such as BOQs, progress certificates,

subcontractor agreements, and variation orders for accuracy and compliance.

? Assess risk management frameworks and ensure alignment with corporate

governance and audit standards.

? Prepare detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations and present

findings to senior management and the audit committee.

? Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and procurement

departments to strengthen control systems and improve business processes.

? Monitor implementation of corrective measures and track post-audit follow-

ups for continuous improvement.

? Ensure the organization's compliance with UAE laws, construction industry

standards, and internal audit best practices.

? Support management in developing fraud detection frameworks and

preventive audit mechanisms.

? Contribute to annual audit planning, resource allocation, and risk assessment

exercises.

Required Qualifications and Skills

? Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; professional certification as a Certified

Internal Auditor (CIA) is mandatory.

? 8-12 years of proven experience in internal auditing within the construction

industry.

? Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles, cost control systems,

and contract audit principles.

? Proficient in internal audit methodologies, risk-based auditing, and process

documentation.

? Excellent command of English and Arabic (spoken and written).

? High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

? Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced

environment.

? Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and audit management software (SAP,

Oracle, or similar).

Attributes

? Experience in large-scale infrastructure or civil projects.

? Familiarity with ISO standards, IFRS, and UAE regulatory frameworks.

? Strong interpersonal communication and stakeholder management skills.

Pay: AED15,000.00 - AED25,000.00 per month
