Job Summary

AMA Audit | Tax | Advisory is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to lead and manage internal audit assignments. The successful candidate shall report to the Head of Internal Audit and be responsible for evaluating business processes, identifying risks, and recommending and following up on improvements to ensure compliance, efficiency, and control effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement risk-based audit plans and programs tailored to client operations and regulatory requirements.

Lead and execute audits across various industries on strategic, operational, financial, IT, tax and compliance areas.

Conduct audits as per the audit program, including walkthroughs, control testing, substantive and analytical audit procedures.

Test the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of the identified controls; prepare combined risk assessments.

Conduct review of policies and procedures manuals, advise process re-engineering, and execute other ad-hoc assignments as directed.

Prepare clear and concise audit reports summarizing key findings, risk areas and practical and, actionable recommendations.

Review working papers/ draft reports of subordinates to ensure quality standards are met.

Track and monitor timely implementation of audit recommendations by the auditees.

Coordinate internal audit fieldwork and provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to subordinates.

Assist in maintaining a quality assurance program aligned with IPPF and other professional standards.

Ensure audit documentation meets professional standards and internal QA benchmarks.

Stay abreast of updates in auditing standards, accounting regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements.

Skills Required

Strong leadership skills and sense of accountability in executing and managing audit engagements.

In-depth knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, internal control frameworks, Tax and Commercial laws, other regulatory standards, etc.

Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments independently with minimal supervision.

High standards of integrity, objectivity, and professional ethics.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification such as CIA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.

3-5 years of relevant audit experience, ideally within the UAE.

Proven experience in identifying risks and implementing process improvements.

Familiarity with ERP systems and data analytics tools.
