JACOBS has a strong track record in helping many of the world\xe2\x80\x99s global cities develop visionary strategic designs and due to continued investment within the region our Middle East operation now seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Instrument and Control Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design, development, installation, and maintenance of instrument and control systems for our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our systems. Additional duties are as listed below:
  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of instrument and control systems, including hardware and software components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate instrument and control systems with overall plant/port operations, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance.
  • Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and manage instrument and control systems projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Develop and execute comprehensive testing and commissioning plans for instrument and control systems, ensuring accurate functionality and performance validation.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting complex issues with instrument and control systems, and develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to ensure system reliability and availability.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, design drawings, operating procedures, and maintenance manuals.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure instrument and control systems comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations, and actively participate in safety reviews and audits.
  • Team Leadership and Mentoring: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing work environment.
Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:

As a successful candidate you will have a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Electrical / Electronics /Mechatronics /I&C Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field. Advanced certifications or specialized training in Instrumentation and Control Systems are desirable. You will have progressive experience in instrument and control systems engineering, with a focus on design, development, and implementation of complex projects. Experience required in Conceptual Design, FEED and Detailed Engineering for Port-Maritime and Oil & Gas Projects, Special Bonus shall be given for Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Project Experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge and expertise in instrument and control systems design, including sensors, actuators, PLC/DCS/ESD/F&G systems, HMI/SCADA, and communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus). Proficiency in industry-standard software tools and programming languages.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in leading and managing instrument and control systems projects, from conceptualization to commissioning, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver results within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving system-related problems and optimizing performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISA, IEC, NEC) governing instrument and control systems design, installation, and operation.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Previous experience in leading teams and mentoring junior engineers or technicians, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in system design, documentation, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Occasional supervising site work (3 months assignment and then back to Design Office) will be part of job description as per project requirements with additional allowances as per organization policies.
