United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for the role of a full-time Instructional Designer within the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL).

Reporting to the Director of CETL, applicants must possess a strong commitment to Online/Blended instructional strategies utilizing learning platforms such as Blackboard, and EdX and have a proven record in instructional design in a higher education context. They will have demonstrable knowledge of the instructional design and digital development processes as well as experience with the actual production of higher education instructional materials, from multi-media artifacts (audio, video, animations) to teaching and learning materials (learning objects).

The successful applicant will be expected to create and/or identify instructional technologies, to enhance student and faculty performance and experience, collaborating with and guiding subject matter experts in these technologies, using data to assess and close gaps in student learning progress.

English is the medium of instruction at the UAEU, and the successful applicant should possess native or near-native command of written and spoken English. The ability to speak and/or write Arabic is not mandatory.

Compensation includes a competitive tax-free salary, housing allowance, a comprehensive health plan, education allowance for children, annual return travel to home destination, and an end-of-service gratuity.

The start date is flexible but preference may be given to those applicants who are able to join the UAEU for the beginning of the next academic year (i.e., mid-August 2023).

The UAEU is located in Al Ain City, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, on the border with Oman and approximately 1.5 hours\xe2\x80\x99 drive from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi cities.

Minimum Qualification
Master/Bachelor degree in a relevant field

Preferred Qualification
5 years record of success in the context of online/blended teaching and learning in higher education
Proficiency with learning management systems, preferably Blackboard.
Experience in project management.
Experience working with state-of-the-art digital content creation and educational technology tools.
