Job Description



The Senior QHSSE Advisor is responsible for monitoring the correct day to day implementation, of the Company Integrated Management System (IMS) in accordance with the requirements of the ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. 1 QHSSE
a) Support the QHSSE Manager in all matter with regards to Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental management.
b) Plan, direct and supervise day to day QHSSE related support. Distribute and delegate work to assigned QHSSE staff.
c) Ensure the development and implementation of project QHSSE management plans as required by the project contract and in line with corporate and legislative requirements.
d) Manage, monitor and advise on all matters related to the health and safety of personnel and issues affecting / impacting the environment due to project activities.
e) Plan and coordinate project audits, including site/offshore audits.
f) Collate and analyse QHSSE performance on all projects.
g) Determine, collect and analyse appropriate data to demonstrate the continuing suitability and effectiveness of the IMS especially on project operations, reporting results to the QHSSE Manager to identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement and the need for change.
h) Lead Incident investigations and root cause analyses.
i) Provide QHSSE guidance and support to the Commercial Department in preparing proposal and project documents and assist with other Ad Hoc requirements for documentation and questionnaires.
j) Monitor objectives and associated targets in line with the QHSSE policy statements.
k) Attendance as required at external audits, delivering evidence of implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions within required timescales.
l) Ensure corrective, preventive and improvement actions are taken without undue delay to eliminate detected or potential non- conformities and their causes. Ensure follow up activities, including verification of effectiveness is undertaken in a timely manner.
m) Periodically review the non-conformity reports register and ensure effective corrective action is being taken.
n) Assist with compilation and review of Risk Assessments.
o) Inspect new / unusual processes for potential hazards.
p) Perform regular inspections of working areas and set an example for other staff for adherence to the Management System.

1.2 Personnel:
a) Ensure all employees and contractors are inducted into the Company QHSSE Management System.
b) Provide internal training on QHSSE related issues.
c) Evaluate and report performance of assigned QHSSE staff.

1.3 Administration:
a) Maintain the filing of Management System documents in accordance with the relevant procedure.
b) Evaluate suppliers when QHSSE has been identified as a basis for approval.
c) Ensure all fire and first aid equipment is regularly serviced and inspected.
d) Assist with the issue of regular safety alerts.
1.4 Specific Additional Duties
e) Deputies for the QHSSE Manager in his absence
f) Assist QHSSE Manager in the improvement of Safety attitudes and behaviors within the organization.
g) Assist QHSSE Manger in scheduling, organization and liaison with external certification bodies e.g. DNV.
h) Carry out internal QHSSE audits in accordance with the Internal Audit schedule.
i) Undertake other QHSSE inspections and audits as required (e.g. supplier audits, complaint or non-conforming work audits, and other audits as required by QHSSE Manager).
j) Maintain IMPACT database
2. Principal Working Relationships
a) Work with Company personnel and contractors for efficient co-ordination and implementation of the QHSSE Management System.
b) Meet assigned QHSSE staff on regular basis to monitor assigned tasks
c) Work with all Company staff to support and improve the Company Management System.

Qualifications required:
a) Formal qualification in Safety discipline or adequate experience in Safety field e.g. NEBOSH (International) Diploma, or equivalent.
b) Recognized Internal / Lead Auditor qualification.
Skills / experience required to do the job:
a) Broad Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 with demonstrable experience of auditing to them.
b) Experience in oil & gas offshore industry
c) Conversant with software in use.
d) English language.

Monitor and manage timely delivery, leading to reliability and client satisfaction. Resources (documents, tools, diary etc.) are well-organized and up to date.
6. Agility: the proven capability to be flexible, responsive, adaptive, and show initiative in times of change (e.g. priorities, work planning/location, skills/technologies, work processes, relationships), uncertainty and opportunities.
