Senior GIS Specialist
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Parsons is looking for a Senior GIS Specialist to join our Digital Engineering team in Abu Dhabi.
The position focuses on spatial data management, analysis, and digital delivery within infrastructure, utilities, and stormwater programs across the UAE.
The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in spatial analysis, GIS-BIM integration (2+ years), and GIS Execution Planning (GEP) to support geospatial workflows and ensure data-driven decision-making throughout all project stages.
What You'll Be Doing:
Manage GIS activities for infrastructure, utilities, transportation, and urban development projects.
Perform spatial and network analyses such as catchment, service area, and terrain modeling.
Prepare and implement GIS Execution Plans (GEPs) including data standards, QA/QC procedures, and interoperability workflows aligned with AD-SDI, USDM, and WA-726-4.
Maintain and update Enterprise Geodatabases (SDE) using SQL Server or PostGIS, ensuring data quality and accessibility.
Execute GIS-BIM integration using ArcGIS Pro, Civil 3D, InfraWorks, and Revit.
Develop and automate geospatial workflows using Python (ArcPy, GDAL) and FME.
Create ArcGIS Dashboards and Experience Builder applications for project monitoring and reporting.
Coordinate with engineering, BIM, and planning teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
Publish and manage authoritative GIS services within ArcGIS Enterprise Portal.
Support GIS team members with technical guidance and contribute to Parsons' digital transformation initiatives.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree (Master Degree or higher preferred) in GIS, eography, Geomatics or Engineering
Minimum 10+ years of GIS experience in the AEC industry.
Proficient in GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online), CAD (AutoCAD).
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Esri GIS Certificate
Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, FME, and Python
Experience with BIM-GIS integration, 3D GIS, and GeoAI
Understanding of infrastructure planning, urban development, and engineering workflows
