Job Description

AE7 Dubai is looking for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to work on international projects. Preferred candidates will have experience and expertise in various projects size and scale. Role Definition Reporting to: Director of Mechanical Engineering Responsibilities:

• Provide firefighting design and code consulting for relevant projects as per ICC (IBC, IFC, IMC) codes, NFPA and local civil defense standards
• Develop fire safety strategies for special hazards
• Provide consulting for fire code compliance
• Deliver prescriptive and performance-based design strategies
• Design fire protection systems from pre-concept stage all the way through construction documents
• Prepare design reports, design drawings, design calculations, and specifications as required for projects
• Communicate with clients, architects, interior designers, contractors, and other consulting teams
• Participate in internal team meetings and external client meetings
• Presenting design approaches to authorities having jurisdiction and obtaining design approvals
• Contributing to AE7 research and technical skill development activities
• Collaborate with multiple teams, across multiple offices in a multi-discipline environment
• Perform site visits, when required
• Other duties as requested from time to time.

Qualities & skills required Essential:

• Minimum 15 years' experience in design engineering of suppression system (sprinkler, wet-standpipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, deluge, foam, hydrants, wet chemical, clean agent), fire pumps, and water storage tanks
• Capable of communicating with Clients, other design team members, authorities, manufacturers, and Contractors on small, large and complex projects.
• Able to manage full coordination between multiple disciplines and subconsultants in different locations.
• Manage design team members in multiple offices to ensure that deadlines are met
• Be responsible to produce projects reports, calculations, drawings, and specification
• Able to train co-team members to help advance their design skills
• Knowledgeable with codes and standards in Gulf countries (i.e. KSA, UAE, Qatar, etc.).
• Very Proficient with Revit
• Experienced in using firefighting systems hydraulic calculations software (i.e. Water based and Gas fire suppression system)
