Job Description

We are working with a leading global commodities merchant who are looking to hire a Senior Finance Controller into their Dubai office. This is a broad and high-visibility role where you'll oversee the local finance function, lead a small team, and take ownership of group-level consolidation, reporting, and compliance.
The position offers both hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting as well as exposure to senior leadership, international operations, and major projects across trading and logistics.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a Dubai-based finance team (3-4 staff).
Manage daily finance operations: GL, sales, SG&A, cash management, A/R, A/P, and accruals.
Review and approve transactions and payments in line with group SOPs.
Deliver group consolidation and annual consolidated financial statements.
Drive the audit process and liaise with global offices and external auditors.
Ensure DMCC compliance, including statutory accounts, VAT, tax filings, and other submissions.
Partner with Tax, Legal, and Operations teams to streamline reporting and processes.
Support ERP upgrades (MS Dynamics) and broader finance transformation initiatives.
Requirements
7-10 years' finance and accounting experience, including at least 2-5 years in the UAE.
Strong background in group consolidation, reporting, and audit management.
Proven leadership skills, comfortable managing and developing a small team.
ERP expertise (MS Dynamics preferred) plus advanced Excel and MS Office knowledge.
Commodity trading, logistics, or related industry experience is an advantage but not essential.
