Role Purpose:
The role of the Senior Finance Manager is to oversee the finance function on a day to day basis covering: accounting, reporting, financial controls, risk review, compliance and to effectively manage the month end routine. More specifically duties will encompass; reviewing and improving adequate financial controls are in place and adhered to for all key financial operations, manage the monthly closing process end to end, drive the Rhythm of finance milestones (Quarterly forecasts and Budget planning).
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Strategy & Planning
- Oversees the timely, complete and accurate/validate relevant activities related to month end closing for all regions. You will be a key provider of technical support to the business on all financial accounting matters.
- Ensures full support to F&B line of Business function to ensure all statutory standalone financials are prepared and issued within the deadline set by the holding company.
- Reviews and oversees contract with supplier including payments in a timely manner, ensuring all approvals and disbursement of payments are in accordance with the MAF DOA and existing policies and procedures and agreed SLA’s.
- Operational risk assessment/process improvements in light of new ERP, streamline end to end processes and work through financial/control aspects of delivering strategy.
- Be an integral part of the risk management and fraud prevention directive.
- Reviews and strengthens loss/ fraud prevention controls within the business.
- Establishes accurate forecasting processes that enable the formulation of informed strategies and direction by departmental leadership
- Support in budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and reporting the Leisure, Entertainment & Cinema businesses.
- Identifies opportunities to optimize performance and implement performance measures to reach financial goals.
- Leads financial analysis to assist management in the evaluation of the profitability of income streams as well as the potential for cost efficiencies.
- Monitors revenues/expenses across the food and beverage portfolio and ensures the accurate recording as per established guidelines.
- Investigates and critiques variances to plan or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management.
- Support in weekly/monthly/annual/ financial planning processes for the food and beverage business to establish a department-wide corporate budget that is subsequently approved by the F&B Finance Director.
- Establishes and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing and cash handling.

- Providing full support for key Finance cycles and continuous reporting process improvement.
- Responsible for P&L Management and Cost controls.

Performs any additional ahoc requests as and when required by the Line Manager.
Functional Competencies
- Working knowledge with accounting software and have a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Skilled in technology and possess exceptionally good computer skills.
- Exceptionally good MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint skills, necessary for the creation financial documentation. Proficient in Power BI.
- Familiar with the use of financial software such as NetSuite, SQL, lSSI, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Quickbooks among others.

- Able to manage End to End Projects
- Strong in projects managements, reporting, closing process and Strong in accounting
- Super strong in excel is mandatory or SAP
- Willing to go to the extra mile if needed during peek periods
- IFRS -Accounting rules
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with responsibilities.
- Must be highly effective in handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines, be results and detail oriented.
- Have exceptionally good communication skills both in written and verbal form

Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 10-12 years of working experience in a corporate finance position within a fast-moving and dynamic business environment preferably in F&B business.
- Proven track record of automating highly complex processes and organizing large volumes of data into relevant dashboards and reports.
Minimum Qualifications/education
- Bachelor’s in Finance with a professional qualification (ACCA/ CPA/ ACA)
