Responsibility for the engineering of projects from concept and schematic design through construction- this includes project reviews at all stages of design
Preparing structural layouts, calculations, and reports
Participate as a team member, contributing ideas and solutions, leading on issues where appropriate
Perform site visit surveys, as needed, to document and evaluate existing structures and determine engineering strategies
Visit project sites during construction, as needed, for review of the quality, progress, and compliance with specifications and standards
Review of approval and manufacturing drawing packages
Development of typical details, specifications, and drawings
Keeping abreast of industry and technology advances and trends; recommending changes in approach and services as appropriate
Continuous improvement of structural engineering design processes and manufacturing practices
Skills and Competencies:
Proven ability to work creatively to reach solutions to complex problems
Track record of mentoring junior engineers
Ability to understand multi-disciplinary coordination issues
Strong project management skills
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an understanding of industrial communication protocols
Ability to set, monitor, and deliver on budgets
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Architectural, Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum of 8 years experience in the areas of faaade and structural engineering design field
Proficient in English Communication; French or Dutch is a plus;
Sound knowledge of faaade systems, design, relevant codes, and standards;
Proficient in relevant faaade & structural finite element software
