To be responsible for leading the engineering activities of the geothermal business opportunities and project cycle and for providing coordination and support for project activities and technology development in other ground source energy engineering related areas of Clean Energy in order to contribute to the delivery of project objectives. Screening, studies and other technical support to assess potential Geothermal Power projects for Masdar:

• Determine prospect areas, prospect boundaries, reservoir positions, as well as possible, probable and proven reservoir potential.
• Conduct pre-screening and/or technical feasibility studies of geothermal projects including identification of technical risk.
• Establish resource mapping methodology using geographic information systems for geothermal projects
• Perform high level concept design works for geothermal projects and propose optimised plant layout
• Perform techno-economic analysis for potential geothermal projects

Contracting and supervision of technical consultants during geothermal projects development:

• Manage the on-site geothermal resource assessment with ground measurement including procurement and installation processes
• Determine and establish geological, geophysical and geochemical survey and analysis activities either partially or integrated, in the exploration, development and monitoring phase by regionally or in details.
• Manage reservoir management programs such as reservoir characterization & surveillance, reservoir management & simulation, reservoir production & monitoring.
• Lead the optimization and technology selection process of each geothermal project. Disclaimer: Job descriptions are not exhaustive and the job holder may be required to undertake duties which are noted, but not limited to the listed responsibilities
• Lead the CAPEX, OPEX and performance internal estimation for various technologies to be used in the optimization process.
• Establish the technical specifications to be included in the site surveys and all RFPs for EPC, O&M and main equipment
• Oversee the O&M preparation activities of geothermal projects

Management of all technical aspects of geothermal activities:

• Establish in-house guidelines and process for geothermal power projects development, from exploration to plant operation, in accordance with best industry practices.
• Develop and keep Masdar\xe2\x80\x99s geothermal knowledge database up to date.
• Lead the interaction with external stakeholders including OEM, partners, consultants etc. safeguarding Masdar interest.
• Assess the potential of green hydrogen production from geothermal energy via interaction with Masdar Green Hydrogen

Discussions and negotiations with EPC contractor:

• Lead negotiations with EPC contractors for geothermal projects to ensure Masdar\xe2\x80\x99s best interests.
• Support in the commercial aspect of the technical stream to ensure best deals are made for Masdar.
• Oversee the review process and understand the technical energy requirements and the performance guarantees requested in different tenders/projects.
• Negotiate and prepare the long-term contractual performance and O&M guarantees of the geothermal plant.
• Lead the preparation and negotiations of the technical annex of the EPC and O&M contracts for geothermal technologies.

Construction and commissioning supervision of geothermal Power plants:

• Provide technical support to the delivery team, making sure the proper technical resources are in place and that the project is constructed and commissioned as per the contractual requirements in terms of scope, quality and timing.
• Be part of the Technical Advisory Committee for construction representing Masdar

Technical support to operational geothermal projects/assets:

• Provide technical support to assets management team, as required, in operational matters that may rise during the asset lifetime.
• Review monthly and annual reports from existing geothermal projects.
• Analyse different Enhanced Steam Regeneration (ESR) system and the make-up wells drilling cost component versus production of operational geothermal power project.
• Represent Masdar in the Technical Advisory Committee for operation assets (as required)

Skills
