Due to anticipated growth throughout 2023, Wood is presently inviting Expressions of Interest for Senior Engineer-Rotating Equipment Control System for our Abu Dhabi Engineering team. This role is subject to project award which is estimated to be in early 2023.

General Expertise:

+ Input to Lead Engineer for work progress and look ahead schedules.

+ Preparation of need list from COMPANY

+ Conversant with International Codes and Standard

+ Compliance to HSE Philosophies

+ Good communication skills with team members, Client, System OEM and EPC CONTRACTOR

+ Manage technical challenges and adopt optimize way forward & resolve with corrective actions

+ Good communicator both verbally and in written form

+ High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work

+ Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative

+ Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable

+ Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of project

+ Liaise with the Client's Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion

+ Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up

Technical Expertise:

+ In-depth knowledge and design/engineering experience on the following specialized control systems:-

+ Machine Monitoring Systems (MMS) by Bently Nevada

+ Anti-surge, Performance and Governor Control System (ASC/PC/GC) by CCC

+ Turbine Control System (TCS) by GE/Baker Hughes

+ Over-Speed Protection Systems (OSPS) by Protech

+ Familiar with the various models of the above mentioned systems and its associated software packages. Working experience in the design/engineering of make/models listed below is mandatory:-

+ BN3500 system by Bently Nevada for MMS

+ Prodigy system by CCC for ASC/PC

+ Mark VIe system by GE/BH for TCS

+ Protech TPS by Woodward for OSPS

+ Woodward 505 governor control (Migration to Prodigy)

+ Adequate experience in process, control/safety logics and instrument data requirements for rotating equipments to properly execute the Startup/Shutdown/Sequential logics and Protection/Trip logics in each of the above mentioned Specialized control systems.

+ Familiar with the data requirements in MMS to execute voting logics, predictive analysis and condition monitoring.

+ Familiar with control algorithms for anti-surge and performance control, load sharing, decoupling algorithms etc. required in ASC/PC/GC systems.

+ Adequate experience in the migration from older make/models to its latest versions for all of the above systems.

+ Knowledge about the instrumentation & cabling requirements for each of the above specialized control systems.

+ Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Instrument and Controls engineering design and analysis

+ Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards

+ Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for Instrument and Controls engineering design

+ Preparation of Specialized Control System Design Basis

+ Preparation of specifications for each Specialized Control System and amendment of its associated COMPANY Design General specification

+ Preparation of Scope of Works for each Specialized Control System.

+ Preparation of Individual & Overall System Architecture for MMS/ASC-PC-GC/TCS & OSPS including third party interfaces through Modbus TCP/IP and OPC Interfaces

+ In-depth knowledge of Third-party Interfaces through Modbus TCP/IP and OPC including the data parameters, data types, address configurations etc.

+ Preparation of technical queries and Technical Bid Evaluation for Specialized control systems.

+ Participation and provide input in Design Review, HAZOP, Alarm Rationalization and SIL workshop.

+ Review of engineering deliverables for Instrumentation and Specialized Control Systems

+ Review for Critical Control system Vendor document such as Functional Design Specification - Hardware and Software, Network architecture and Control system architecture

+ Attendance in Factory Acceptance Test.

+ Attendance in Integrated Factory Acceptance Test for Specialized Control Systems with other Modbus TCP/IP and OPC Connected third-party systems

+ Preparation and review of Control System Change over Philosophy & Method Statement

+ Attendance in Site Acceptance Test for Specialized Control Systems equipment's (MMS/TCS/ASC-PC-GC/OSPS - System/ Marshalling/HMIs).

+ Support to EPC CONTRACTOR during site execution for Control System Changeover

+ Provide resolution site technical queries.

+ Degree in Instrument or Electronics Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.)

+ Certified Functional Safety Engineer (TÜV Rheinland)

+ Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred

+ Minimum of 10 years' experience in the oil and gas industry.

+ Minimum of 6 years' proven capability in an engineering design company.

+ Experience of sour gas service operations is a mandatory requirement.

+ Site support / construction and commissioning support experience.

+ Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams.

+ Experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
