Job Description

1. JOB PURPOSE: Provide engineering support and technical expertise to Operating Plants & Pipeline, Major Projects and Technical projects related to piping discipline through all phases of projects and ensure the reliability, availability, and maintainability of Piping systems.

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Engineering & Technical Support Provide technical support / services in the area of piping engineering to sites through RTS (Request for Technical Services), RCAs, MOCs raised by relevant stake holders. Provide Technical support for resolving existing Piping vibration issues, checking pipe support adequacy, Piping and flange Leaks, corrosion problems, Valve issues etc. Prepare Technical Notes and Joint Studies as required on Piping and Pipeline disciplines. Act as an ultimate Technical Authority for Piping and Pipeline discipline matters. Develop and write the Statement of Requirements (SOR) for new projects and ensures its co-ordination with operators/sponsors. Develop and elaborate the Scope of Work (SOW) for consultants. Design in-house engineered works including drawings, specifications/ data sheets and bills of quantities as required and ensure that state-of-the-art technology is applied in the selection of piping materials and piping systems. Review / prepare Piping design basis, plot plans, piping layouts, isometric drawings, and carry out stress analysis and material selection as required and ensure sound design and integrity of piping systems. Participate in HAZOP, 3D Model reviews, Plot plan and Layout reviews. Ensures cost-effective solutions and application of value-added engineering throughout the duration of projects. Provide technical expertise support to project management activities through all phases of projects, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Pre -commissioning, Commissioning and Hand-over of Project facilities to End Users. Assessment of Design deviation/ Concession request Authorization (DCA) (critical to HSE, integrity and production) & Contractor Trend Notice (CTN). Direct and manage the company minor projects as project technical lead with relevance to his area of expertise. Mentor and develop UAE Nationals, aiding ADNOC Sour gas in achieving Emiratization targets. Assist, develop, monitor the COMPANY's Digitization, Artificial Intelligence program and Predictive maintenance system for Mechanical Equipment.

Technical Studies Perform technical studies in-house or manage technical studies through Engineering Consultants based on the complexity and provide technical reports with appropriate recommendations in line with the scope of RTS for Piping engineering. Review / approve drawings, specification, data sheets and other technical documents related to piping engineering for all types of projects. Ensure that the Consultants / Engineering Contractors designs are in accordance with the Scope of Work and facilities delivered to end-users are safe, reliable, operable & maintainable. Prepare minor in-house engineering package for plant modification work. Design General Specifications Participate in ADNOC Group of Companies Forums and extend the required support to develop ADNOC Group Unified Standards Ensure company Specifications & Standards are updated, developed, maintained and implemented on all phases of Projects being executed by the Projects Group, in line with ADNOC guidelines and industry best practice Root Cause Analysis Participate in RCA (root cause analysis) related to piping systems failure, troubleshoot chronic plant problems and recommend solutions Ensure that the repetitive failure of piping systems is eliminated / mitigated and that proposed solutions are designed to safeguard company's plant asset safety, integrity, maintainability and continuous operability Pre-qualification of Suppliers, Manufacturers & Consultants Participate in the review and endorsement in order to prequalify suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, consultants in the area of piping Ensure that suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, consultants under consideration are qualified and competent to supply goods / provide services to company. Others Perform other similar or related duties, as required.

Supervision Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives. Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective team objectives. Budgets Provide input for preparation of the Department/ Team budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Team objectives. Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control. Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures Implement approved Department / Team policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department / Team's work programs in line with Company and International standards. Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations. Performance Management Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Team in line with the Company Performance framework. Innovation and Continuous Improvement Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes. Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function. Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices Reports Provide inputs to prepare Team MIS and progress reports for Company Management

3. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Internal Team Leader Mechanical Engineering, Manager, Engineering Services (Mech. / Civ. / Pip) to provide information, analysis & reports, and take directions. Team members to receive information, give feedback, and provide instructions. Frequent contact with VP- Technical Services, Managers and peers within the Division/Company to provide and obtain information. Regular contacts with project managers and engineers for providing guidance on Piping Engineering related matters. External Personnel in various ADNOC OPCOs in adjacent industries for knowledge sharing. Third Party Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers, etc.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills 8 years' experience in Gas Processing Plants within a large industrial organization, with at least 4 years in a similar role. Oil and Gas industry experience is preferred. Good knowledge in engineering & technical support to Pipeline Operations and technical projects related to pipeline engineering in oil and gas industry. Good knowledge in piping design and engineering, selection of piping and valve materials, complying to code requirement in oil and gas industry. Familiarity of international design codes and standards, procurement, construction, pre- commissioning / commissioning and maintenance of Piping in Oil & Gas. Knowledge of the following standards is preferred. ASME B31.3, API 579, API 580, API 581, & API 571 Good knowledge in Pipeline Stress Analysis. Familiar with Piping Stress analysis software like CEASER, Auto Pipe, etc. Familiarity of the capabilities and shortcomings of piping related contractors / manufacturers, and a proven track record of conducting technical and commercial negotiations with them. Awareness in HAZOP for system examination and risk management. Planning and Organizing, Scheduling and Coordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording. Very good knowledge of spoken and written English language. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable. Professional Certifications Knowledge of the following standards is preferred. ASME B31.3, API 579, API 580, API 581, & API 571 Avoidance of Vibration Induced Fatigue Failure in Process Pipework - (Energy Institute) Pipe Stress Analysis - Ceaser 2 Certification API 570 - Piping Inspector PROACT RCA Methodology.
