Due to anticipated growth throughout 2023, Wood is presently inviting Expressions of Interest for Senior Engineer-PLC/ESD for our Abu Dhabi Engineering team. This role is subject to project award which is estimated to be in early 2023.

General Expertise:

+ Input to Lead ESD/PLC Engineer for work progress and look ahead schedules.

+ Preparation of need list from COMPANY

+ Conversant with International Codes and Standard

+ Compliance to HSE Philosophies

+ Good communication skills with team members, Client, System OEM and EPC CONTRACTOR

+ Manage technical challenges and adopt optimize way forward & resolve with corrective actions

+ Good communicator both verbally and in written form

+ High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work

+ Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative

+ Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable

+ Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of project

+ Liaise with the Client's Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion

+ Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up

Technical Expertise:

+ Possess adequate specialist knowledge in functional safety as per IEC-61508/61511 standards and certification in functional safety

+ Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Instrument and Controls engineering design and analysis

+ Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards

+ Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for Instrument and Controls engineering design

+ Adequate experience of package systems for process machinery in sequential logic, Grafcets, Protection logic, trip functionalities

+ Experience of managing projects with minimum 5000 I/Os and complex ESD/PLC for EPC Project

+ Preparation of ESD/PLC Control System Design Basis

+ Preparation of ESD/PLC specification and amendment of COMPANY Design General specification

+ Preparation of Individual & Overall System Architecture for ESD/PLC connectivity through Modbus TCP/IP and Interfaces with higher level application server through OPC Protocol

+ Preparation of existing ESD/PLC system's Modification Scope of work, preferable in Allen Bradley PLC.

+ In-depth knowledge of any two of following Control systems:

+ EMERSON (Delta V and CHARMS)

+ Yokogawa (Centum VP & Prosafe RS)

+ Honeywell (C300 & Safety Manager)

+ Siemen (PCS 7, S7- 400).

+ Schneider (EVO & Triconex)

+ Allen Bradley (Control Logix)

+ Knowledge of Third-party Interfaces through Modbus TCP/IP, OPC & IEC 61850

+ Preparation of technical queries and Technical Bid Evaluation for ESD/PLC s of the following Manufacturers -

+ EMERSON - Delta V

+ Yokogawa - Centum VP

+ Honeywell - C300

+ Siemens - PCS 7

+ Schneider - EVO

+ Experience of following OPC connected high level application server and finalization of Modification SOW for the replacement of existing Control system:

+ Advanced process Control (APC)

+ Alarm management System (ALMS)

+ Plant Information System (PI Server)

+ Well SCADA server (not mandatory)

+ Experience with Instrument and Controls design for prefabricated modular packaged equipment

+ Participation and provide input in Design Review, HAZOP, Alarm Rationalization and SIL workshop.

+ Review of engineering deliverables for Instrumentation, ESD/PLC and Control Systems

+ Review for Critical Control system Vendor document such as Functional Design Specification - Hardware and Software, Network architecture and Control system architecture

+ Attendance in Factory Acceptance Test for ESD /PLC System/ Marshalling/HMIs.

+ Attendance in Integrated Factory Acceptance Test for New Control Systems with other Modbus TCP/IP and OPC Connected third-party systems

+ Preparation and review of Control System Change over Philosophy & Method Statement

+ Attendance in Site Acceptance Test for New Control Systems equipment's (ESD & PLC - System/ Marshalling/HMIs.

+ Support to EPC CONTRACTOR during site execution for Control System Changeover

+ Provide resolution site technical queries.

+ Degree in Instrument or Electronics Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.)

+ Certified Functional Safety Engineer (TÜV Rheinland)

+ Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred

+ Minimum of 10 years' experience in the oil and gas industry.

+ Minimum of 6 years' proven capability in an engineering design company.

+ Experience of sour gas service operations is a mandatory requirement.

+ Site support / construction and commissioning support experience.

+ Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams.

+ Experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
