SENIOR ELECTRICIAN
Job Title: Senior Electrician
Department: Maintenance / MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
Reports To: MEP Supervisor / Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
The Senior Electrician is a highly skilled professional responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical principles, national and local electrical codes (NEC), and safety protocols. The Senior Electrician often leads a small team, provides guidance to junior electricians, and handles the most complex electrical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, panels, circuit breakers, distribution boards, and other electrical components.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner, using various testing devices.
• System Testing: Test electrical systems and circuits for continuity, voltage, current, and resistance to ensure compatibility and safety.
• Code Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in strict accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety standards.
• Team Leadership: Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and supervision to Apprentice and Junior Electricians.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to prevent failures and extend equipment life.
• Documentation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent.
• Safety: Adhere to all OSHA and company-specific safety guidelines. Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective action.
• Inventory Management: Assist in managing electrical supplies and inventory, recommending orders for necessary parts and equipment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal apprenticeship program.
• Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license is required.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
• In-depth knowledge of the NEC and local codes.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.
