Main Purpose of Role:

Key Designer Role within the business to lead discipline designing performance on projects & to provide expert technical design leadership and design assurance on projects as required

Qualifications:

Diploma of Engineering (Preferable)

Knowledge / Experience (Skills):

Essential

13 -20 years of Oil & Gas Design Experience.

Advantage

Previous experience in Region Minimum 5 years' experience as a Lead Designer
Documentation Production - Originating / Checking / Approving


a) Production of documents as per the latest Engineering Design Assurance Procedure.



b) Originating of the following documents


Design Drawings as per project requirements

c) Checking of the following documents


Critical & Non-critical Designing Activities & Documentation: Scope of Work, Participate in Design & Safety Reviews, Lists, Schedules, MTO's, Drawings, Details, etc.

d) Approving of the following documents

Resource Management


a) Nil



Quality Management


a) Responsible for individual performance with regards to technical quality in accordance with Quality Plan



b) Ensuring that the Corporate Technical Assurance requirements have been met;


Ensuring the Project Change Management Process is being adhered to. Ensuring the Engineering Design Assurance (Generating / Checking / Approval) Process is being adhered to. Adequately Performing Competency Assessment Ensuring Technical Queries are being raised in adherence to Technical Query Process Ensuring Project Technical Issues are being captured on the Technical Actions Register Ensuring that excessive documents revisions are not generated. (Ensuring the Comment Resolution Sheet are utilized and effective communication lines)
Estimating / Bids / Proposals


a) Nil



Project Planning / Project Setup


a) Ensuring Department Key Activity Milestone Inputs are identified with sufficient quality prior to the interactive planning session



b) Ensuring Project plans are developed to optimize efficiency & productivity



c) Participate in Project Set-up Interactive Planning session



d) Ensuring deliverable planned issue dates are updated and reviewed on the Project MDR. This will be submitted to client as Project Baseline Plan



e) Ensuring Project Resourcing Plan is updated and allocated in Resource Allocation Tool (RAT) & in line with CTR Budgets and Deliverable & Milestone schedule requirements



Performance Against Schedule


a) Ensuring timely (weekly) updating of Project Master Deliverables Register (MDR) with Forecast dates



b) Ensuring performance against deliverable and milestone schedule requirements.



c) Ensuring the Project Change Management Process is being followed with respect to logging of schedule changes.



d) Ensuring that schedule issues are brought to the attention of Lead Engineer, Project engineer, & Project Management



e) Proactive approach towards performance against project schedule



Performance Against Budget


a) Ensuring performance against project budget requirements.



b) Ensuring good productivity rating within discipline



a) Ensuring the Project Change Management Process is being followed with respect to raising of PCR's



b) Ensuring that budget issues are brought to the attention of project management team early



c) Proactive approach towards managing discipline/department performance against budge



8.Work-share



a) Contribute positive and productive work-share relationships within department/discipline between offices.



b) Ensuring work-share transfer packs are created in line with company work-share procedure & standard templates.
