Due to anticipated growth throughout 2023, Wood is currently inviting applications of Senior Electrical Designers with experience in oil and gas engineering for our Engineering team in Abu Dhabi
Below are some key responsibilities and duties:
Assist lead designer in design activities by timely developing the drawings as per project specific standards
Design and mark \xe2\x80\x93 up drawings as appropriate (e.g. Single Line Diagrams, substation layouts, cable routing, lighting, earthing etc.) to a suitable level of detail
Ensure design quality, technical content and technical accuracy of electrical drawings on assigned projects
Check and approve electrical drawings where he / she is authorised to sign
Comment on other discipline documents
Comment on supplier documents where applicable
Attends plot plan and model reviews
Ability to provide input data for preparing prepare Bill of Materials, cable schedules and / or termination schedules
Expertise in SPEL, PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D Modeling and AUTO CAD Drafting
Keep informed of the latest developments in electrical software and other packages relevant to the electrical design discipline
Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management
Participate in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned and close-out
Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects
Should be able to add value plus/ optimization ideas
Skills / Qualifications
Diploma in Electrical Engineering
In-depth knowledge of design tools \xe2\x80\x93 AutoCAD / Micro station, SPEL, PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D Modeling software experience
Ability to report in in English, both verbal & in writing
Proactive attitude
10+Years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in electrical design with minimum 7+ Years of experience in Oil & Gas engineering consultancy
