Senior DSP design engineers contribute to a dynamic organization responsible for developing modem and signal processing algorithms for wireless communication systems.
Key responsibilities:
Conduct system studies related to the radio physical layer for wireless technologies.
Define system features and functions, including requirements, test cases, algorithms, and parameter settings.
Design innovative DSP algorithms for wireless communication modems, focusing on physical layer algorithms.
Develop system models to analyze the performance of required features and algorithms, primarily through design modeling and simulations.
Support system verification, characterization, and test result analysis.
Create fixed-point models for designed algorithms and assist in specifying optimized architectures for hardware implementation.
Collaborate with hardware designers and document designs.
Gain a deep understanding of wireless modem architectures.
Drive continuous improvements in designs, simulation tools, and processes while maintaining compliance with relevant standards.
Collaborate on new features, simulations, and improvements with cross-functional development teams located in Cairo, Egypt, and other global teams.
The role encompasses architecture definition, algorithm design, characterization, testing, and validation.
Desired Competencies:
Adaptability, flexibility, creativity, and innovation, with a focus on networking and teamwork.
A proven background in communication theory and digital signal processing, including time and frequency synchronization, tracking loops, detection, information theory, MIMO equalization, and signal decoding.
Solid understanding of various wireless communication technologies, particularly the Physical Layer.
Experience in algorithm development for wireless communication systems.
Solid understanding of floating-point and fixed-point numerical simulation models.
Experts in MATLAB, C, and C++ programming languages.
Experience in analyzing simulations using MATLAB, C, and C++.
Analytical mindset with high capacity and result-oriented ability to deliver under pressure. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent English skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective communication and fostering positive relationships internally and externally.
Highly motivated, self-driven, and an excellent team player.
