Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and plans for construction projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and client requirements. They will coordinate with engineers, architects, and site teams to support project execution with accurate and high-quality drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drafting & Design:

Prepare detailed architectural, structural, and MEP drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting software. Create shop drawings, as-built drawings, and fabrication details for construction projects. Modify and update drawings based on project changes and client requirements.

2. Coordination & Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers, architects, and site teams to ensure drawings align with project specifications. Review and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and specifications provided by consultants and design teams. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers regarding drawing details and clarifications.

3. Quality & Compliance:

Ensure drawings comply with local construction codes, standards, and company guidelines. Perform quality checks on drawings before submission to consultants or authorities. Maintain an organized record of drawings and revisions for project documentation.

4. Site Support & Problem-Solving:

Assist site teams by providing technical support and clarifications related to drawings. Identify and resolve discrepancies between design drawings and site conditions. Participate in site visits as needed to verify measurements and construction progress.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum

5-10 years

of experience as a draftsman in the construction industry.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in

AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other CAD software

. Knowledge of

BIM (Building Information Modeling)

is an advantage. Strong understanding of

architectural, structural, and MEP drawings

. Familiarity with

UAE building codes and regulations

.
