Job Purpose

The GCP Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible to oversee and direct all aspects of Google service delivery process. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of cloud services strategy, managing the delivery of services to our clients, and leading a team of engineers to achieve service delivery objectives.

Additional Responsibilities

Deployment and Infrastructure Management

* Design architectures and solutions using PaaS, IaaS & DevOps on GCP, with a focus on Google cloud architecture framework and Cloud Adoption Framework. * Design and supervise GCP cloud infrastructure deployment to support software systems, applying DevOps methodologies and using a variety of tools and technologies. * Design and supervise continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for deploying applications, using GCP native tools and 3rd party solutions. * Design IaC deployment in GCP using tools like Google cloud deployment manager or terraform. * Stay up to date on relevant technologies, understand trends and opportunities to ensure we are using the best possible techniques and tools. * Design containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration services like GKE to automate the deployment and scaling of applications. * Contribute to the planning and strategy related to system architecture and development. * Collect technical requirements for business process integration and create modernization roadmaps. * Conduct infrastructure assessments and lead migrations to GCP (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). * Perform root cause analysis for production errors and provide solutions to prevent recurrence. * Maintain knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws and ensure compliance. * Play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of various migration projects. * Create, manage, and deliver all project-related documents, including business cases and success criteria * Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, project managers, and stakeholders to gather information and requirements for migration projects. * Create comprehensive and well-structured project documentation, including business cases, project plans, migration strategies, risk assessments, and success criteria. * Organize and maintain a centralized repository of all project documentation, ensuring easy accessibility and version control for the entire project team. * Work closely with technical experts and subject matter specialists to accurately translate technical information into clear and understandable documentation for non-technical stakeholders. * Participate in project meetings and discussions to capture key decisions, action items, and project progress, and translate these into relevant documentation. * Develop and maintain templates, standards, and guidelines for project documentation, promoting best practices across the organization. * Collaborate with external partners and vendors to collect necessary documentation and integrate it into the project repository.

Job Specification

Education

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or any related field

Professional Certifications

* GCP Certified: Professional cloud architect * GCP Certified: Professional cloud DevOps engineer * Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) - preferrable * HashiCorp: Terraform associate - preferrable

Knowledge

* Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Big Query, and Cloud Storage * Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration * Programming and coding skills * Infrastructure areas such as virtual server technologies, Storages, networking, internet protocols, scripting & monitoring tools, and IT Security * Infrastructure definition tools such as Cloud Formation and Terraform
