Senior Designer - Pipeline
to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Job Overview

The senior Designer - Pipeline is responsible for the preparation of overall Field Layout and Routing Plans for onshore and offshore pipelines including subsea cables & umbilical and ensure that technical requirements are met to the optimal level.
Assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas.

Responsibilities and Duties

Prepare Overall Field Layout and Routing Plans for onshore and offshore pipelines including subsea cables & umbilical and ensure that technical requirements are met to the optimal level.

Prepare Survey Corridor drawings for onshore and offshore pipelines including subsea cables & umbilical.

Conduct Site visits for identifying Riser locations, Jacket Face, Topside Tie-ins etc.,

Generate Alignment Sheets, Crossing Drawings & Data Sheets for onshore and offshore pipelines including subsea cables / umbilical.

Submit Riser, J-Tubes and Subsea Spool General Arrangement drawings for Engineers concurrence.

Generate Subsea Valve Skid GA's. Wye Piece/Mid Tie-In Spool drawings, Prepare various kinds of pipeline standard detail drawings.

Preparing of Platform Approach/Departure and shore approach drawings.

Extract MTO / BOQ for Pipelines, Risers & Subsea Cables and associated appurtenances /components (e.g. bends, valves, etc.) from Field Layout and Alignment Sheets.

Identify and capture Demolition Scope in pertinent Drawings & Schematics for Pipelines,

Riser & Subsea Spools and topside facilities covering barrel to barrel.

Preparation of Various drawings for onshore pipelines, Trenchless method road crossing drawings, Pipeline corridor crossing drawings (Open cut, Trenchless methods), etc.

Verification of As-built information in terms of survey report, ROV survey & inspection videos and drawings submitted by Engineers while ensuring compliance to technical requirements, D.O.P and Co-ordinate system.

Study the available information required for the project, from the existing drawings and documents use the same for preparing fresh drawings related to specific project requirements.

Refer and interpret other engineering discipline drawings, documents, input data, vendor drawings and catalogue data and use them for preparing the detailed layouts and piping drawings.

Furnish all kind of inputs required for design and other engineering disciplines capturing all interface issues.

Provide Technical Guidance & support designers in terms of review and preparation of required deliverables.

Managing all soft and hard copy of drawings of various projects related to pipelines including subsea cables/umbilical for effective storage and traceability.

Participate in general pipeline meetings to gather, understand and deliver the required output.

Provide other supporting services within and outside the department for the smooth and effective running of the projects.

Qualifications

Diploma in Engineering Technology from a recognized Technical Institute / University.

Minimum of 10 years design drafting experience in oil and gas industry or related process industries and 5 years supervisory experience.

UAE local experience is added value.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Fluent in the English language

Additional Requirements

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, GTX Raster and GIS based software applications (e.g. Google Earth) required for conceptualizing pipeline routing and other pipelines related drawings.

Technical competence to produce a complete set of shop/ fabrication drawings with high accuracy, based on the pre-engineering site survey.

In-depth knowledge of the operation of a modern CAD based multi-discipline drawing office.

Excellent AutoCAD skills, Word Processing and Spreadsheet capability.

A good understanding of AutoCAD enhancement programs.

Ability to organize and prioritize design drafting work to meet the target dates.

Good experience in site verification, As-Building activities.

Working knowledge and application of the Subsea & Onshore Pipeline codes, standards/specifications including installation practices for Oil/Gas industry.

Expert interpretation of Geophysical and Geotechnical Survey data required for pipeline engineering inputs required for further analysis and design.

Strong leadership skills, with written, verbal and analytical skills.

Good command of English language.
