Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Senior Design Manager** to join our team! In this role you will get to Serves as Lead Designer for all phases of a project. Provides technical guidance to project design and drafting personnel, and functions as liaison with client, suppliers, and contractors regarding design issues. **What You'll Be Doing:**

+ Coordinates execution of work assignments with respect to design approach, schedules, standards, budgets, and procedures to meet client scope of work requirements. Provides manpower estimates as required.

+ Provides technical guidance to project design team in completing the most complex and difficult designs and layouts for complete systems and components of a project. Assignments typically involve design elements for which there may be no clearly established precedents and require anticipation of problems at the outset in order to provide appropriate solutions.

+ Ensures compliance with required specifications, tolerances, safety factors, and industry codes, as well as client requirements and company standards.

+ Performs specialized design computations and analysis within a given discipline.

+ Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordination of data to ensure a compatible design.

+ Provides direction to a team of checking personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings produced. Participates in checking orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.

+ Understands and applies commonly used company design standards and methods. Provides input to the establishment or revision of guidelines and standards.

+ Collaborates with Engineers and other engineering disciplines to ensure quality of design.

+ Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.

+ May train lower-level Designers in various procedures. **What Required Skills You'll Bring:**

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) from Western University with a strong background in managing the technical design process across multiple work packages.

+ 20+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience

+ Robust personality who is able to manage senior stakeholders (internal and external) as well as leading a number of concurrent deliverables and deadlines

+ Able to proactively preempt issues as well as being adept in quick problem solving / providing innovative solutions

+ Independently taking the lead for all deliverables within their scope of work

+ Significant managerial experience across a large team of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel - both internal and external - directing work involving complex technical situations

+ Experience across multiple disciplines/assets - industrial, infrastructure, buildings, etc **What Desired Skills You'll Bring:**

+ Able to thrive in a fast paced environment.

+ Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society may be required

+ Excellent written and oral communications skills - comfortable presenting technical presentations / solutions to the client

+ Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required

+ Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.

+ Requirements include strong PC and CAD skills, as well as knowledge of the capabilities and efficiencies of utilizing specific computer software to complete design assignments.

+ Also requires the ability to perform in a lead capacity on a project.
