The Senior Design Manager will be tasked with Project and Design Management, reviewing all engineering drawings, design work and infrastructure planning as well as managing and coordinating all design activities on large Built Environment & Infrastructure projects in Middle East.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below: Day to day management/coordination of all design review activities, including stakeholder management, budget control and reporting Regular liaison with client's, subconsultants and contractor's and representatives for all design review activities Administer the review of all design and technical submissions Ensure proper controls are in place for all disciplines i.e. QA/QC, contract compliance etc. Discipline progress control and reporting to Project Principal and client's representative Identify and report any changes (variations) Monitor the project's progress and the allocation of resources to the design review team; initiate changes as required Work with the discipline Engineers and Project Principal on resolving issues with the design Draft and review the status and adequacy of the design review plan; ensure its continuing effectiveness. Identify and manage delivery of information required by the project teams and contractors from and monitor progress against agreed timelines Identify risks and opportunities associated with coordination and advise the project teams regularly. Ensuring the Mott MacDonald's best practices are implemented in an effective and economic manner Lead design review and report on any recommendation that can aid with delivery and the project's financials

Candidate Specification

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar relevant engineering discipline Chartered engineer or equivalent Licensed / registered engineer with a recognized authority is preferred. Extensive engineering experience in design management, commercial project management and project controls. Experience in Gulf region. Experience in leading design teams, project planning, technical report writing and preparation of proposals. Familiarity with international design review standards and knowledge in Abu Dhabi and Dubai Standards. Experience within a consultancy environment
