Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced

Senior Design Engineer specialized in sewerage network systems

to join our dynamic engineering consultancy in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in the design and rehabilitation of both new and existing sewerage infrastructure, with a solid understanding of local authority requirements and design codes in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design of sewerage networks, including gravity sewers, pumping stations, and pressurized systems. Develop detailed engineering drawings, hydraulic profiles, and design reports in accordance with ADM, ADSSC/ADDC, and EAD guidelines. Plan and manage rehabilitation and upgrade projects for aging sewerage systems. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including CAD, GIS, hydraulic modelers, and construction engineers. Oversee design reviews, feasibility studies, and value engineering exercises. Provide expert technical input during client meetings and presentations. Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental considerations. Support the preparation of tender documents, BOQs, specifications, and technical proposals.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master's preferred). Minimum 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years within Abu Dhabi working on similar infrastructure projects. Proven expertise in sewerage network design and rehabilitation. Deep knowledge of Abu Dhabi's municipal authority procedures, standards, and permitting processes. Proficient in relevant design software such as SewerGEMS, Civil 3D, InfoWorks ICM, and AutoCAD. Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.

Preferred Attributes

Previous experience working with major UAE-based consultants or government authorities. Familiarity with stormwater and combined drainage systems is a plus. PMP or Chartered Engineer certification is advantageous.
