Senior Design Engineer (Civil Infrastructure)

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Responsibilities:

• Review of the Design drawings and calculations at various stages of the design development
• Review of the shop drawings
• Review of the Material used which is reflected in the drawings and calculations and cross verification with MAR
• Review of the Basis of design, performance and technical specifications
• Carryout the tasks assigned by the Engineering team on day to day basis
• Use of the EDMS system (document management system) of EMPLOYER
• Attending the meetings on behalf of EMPLOYER

Required Qualifications:

• Civil Engineer with a minimum of 10 years' relevant professional experience special on Roads and it's associated Infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of the Authority requirements and standards
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to participate in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural engineering team.
• Ability to meet stringent timelines to support AD Ports' overall project programme.
• Ability to coordinate and meet with the Designers, Contractor's and Authorities.

Required Technical Criteria:

• Capable of reviewing civil deliverables including but not limited to the following:

• Deliverables related to ROW, Utility corridors etc.
• Layouts for the Roads, Dry utilities and Storm water
• Profile review for the Roads and Storm water
• Topography survey layouts
• Earthwork and grading drawings
• Details of the Roads, Dry utilities and Storm water structures
• Layouts for the telecom, MV/LV/Street lighting networks (Civil part only)
• Layouts of the substations and details
• Layouts of the Storm water pump stations
• Details of the Storm water pump stations structures
• Layout and details of the Utility protection and culvert
• Coordination with the road work drawings
• Typical and standard details
• Civil design basis reports
• Civil Specifications
• Calculations
• Compound wall, fence and gates
• Ensuring the deliverables are coordinated with the other disciplines
• Ensuring the Compliance to Authority standards and specifications
• Ensuring the deliverables are complying to the Contract requirements
• Ensuring the proper interface with existing infrastructure, ongoing and future projects
• Constructability of the asset(s)
• Value Engineering options
• Appropriate assumptions / factors taken during the review process
• Health, Safety & Environmental issues associated with the design
• Assisting EMPLOYER on the project management and coordination process
• Keeping the record for the works completed
