Senior Design Engineer

You will be working as Senior Design Engineer, will be the part of Electrification Business Area for Services division based in Dubai, UAE. In this role you will be responsible for project engineering ensuring selected product, on time, on budget and coordinating with customer being an Ambassador for ABB in front of the end user.

Your responsibilities

• Taking over the project documents from project managers, managing the projects and be the main contact for all facets of project execution, contributing to design reviews and verification following established QA/QC process
• Providing feedback on design aspects and making necessary modifications, optimizing designs to meet updated standards, incorporating new products, components and functionalities, defining the projects schedule and ensuring timely completion
• Creating or reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and planning required by manufacturing, fabrication or construction, efficiently managing the project documentation, identifying and implementing variation requests to support contract claims
• Generating the regular project engineering documentations such as project schedule, milestone documentation, creating work plans and cost estimates for work in one\xe2\x80\x99s area of responsibility and ensuring quality deliverables on time and at targeted cost
• Completing risk and opportunity assessments, implementing of resulting actions in one\xe2\x80\x99s area of responsibility, reporting any contract / quality / program / cost issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution
• Interacting with customers and providing technical guidance on design related queries, collaborating with the supply chain function, reviewing vendor documentation, preparing RFQs, providing design related evaluation of proposals for non-standard materials and equipment
• Sharing knowledge and experience across own business unit and beyond, attending project meetings and presenting specific aspects of project design assignments, creating standard processes and tools to promoting the reuse of technical solutions
• Coaching less experienced designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including drawings and calculations and managing a small team of designers on a project

Your background

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 7-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a similar role and experience in MV , LV and Automation projects, team coaching and good team player, commercial knowledge, MS Office, MS project knowledge
• Fluency in English language is mandatory
