Key Responsibilities

  • Act as discipline design engineer on small to mid-size infrastructure projects or lead engineer for dry utilities and electrical scope
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to CAD designers, drafters, and junior to mid-level engineers
  • Develop and review electrical and dry utilities design deliverables using CAD and BIM tools
  • Support preparation of technical studies, commercial inputs, and life cycle cost analyses for design alternatives
  • Prepare and deliver detailed technical presentations to clients and stakeholders
  • Develop master plans from concept through detailed design, including HV and LV corridor planning, ROW definition, and multi-discipline coordination
  • Prepare master plan reports, demand load calculations, equipment sizing, protection coordination, and tie-in requirements
  • Deliver electrical and dry utilities designs across all project phases, from concept to IFC, for greenfield and brownfield developments
  • Design street lighting systems for roads, bridges, tunnels, and associated tunnel MEP systems, including lighting calculations, SLDs, and load schedules
  • Design electrical systems for STPs, RO plants, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure, including lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection, telecom, security, and fire alarm systems
  • Prepare design reports, technical specifications, tender documents, and manage approvals with clients, authorities, and subconsultants
  • Review designs prepared by other consultants and produce structured technical review reports
  • Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, bid evaluations, and evaluation reports
  • Coordinate with local authorities to secure approvals and ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Perform value engineering studies and prepare recommendation reports
  • Respond to contractor RFIs and review technical submittals related to electrical works and dry utilities
  • Coordinate clash detection resolution within BIM and 3D model environments
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical and dry utilities design for large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong hands-on experience in HV, MV, and LV electrical design to local and international standards
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC, IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA, IEC, and UAE authority standards including DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA, SEC, MEDC, and Civil Defense
  • Proven experience with infrastructure power systems including primary substations, HV corridors, distribution substations, MV and LV networks, calculations, and technical reporting
  • Strong experience with DEWA standards, PSMP, PNOC, and GE submissions
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM environments, and Revit
