Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as discipline design engineer on small to mid-size infrastructure projects or as lead engineer for dry utilities scope
  • Provide technical input, mentoring, and guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and junior to mid-level engineers
  • Develop and review design deliverables using CAD and engineering software tools
  • Support preparation of technical, commercial, and life cycle cost analyses for alternative design solutions
  • Prepare and deliver detailed technical presentations to clients and stakeholders
  • Develop master plans from concept to detailed design including HV and LV corridor space proofing and ROW definition
  • Coordinate dry utilities designs with wet utilities, ICT, telecom, roads, transportation, landscape, and building teams
  • Prepare master plan reports, demand load calculations, equipment sizing, protection coordination, and tie-in point requirements
  • Deliver designs across all project stages from concept through IFC
  • Analyze requirements for both greenfield and brownfield developments
  • Design street lighting systems for roads, bridges, tunnels, and underpasses including lighting calculations, SLDs, and load schedules
  • Design electrical and ELV systems for STPs, RO plants, stormwater, sewage, and irrigation pumping stations
  • Prepare design reports, technical specifications, and tender documents and secure approvals from authorities and clients
  • Review design submissions prepared by other consultants and issue structured review reports
  • Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and bid evaluation reports
  • Coordinate with local authorities to obtain approvals and ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Perform value engineering studies and prepare value engineering reports with recommendations
  • Respond to contractor RFIs and review and approve technical submittals related to electrical works and dry utilities
  • Review clash detection outputs and resolve clashes within BIM and 3D coordination environments
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in electrical design for large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong hands-on experience in HV, MV, and LV electrical design to local and international standards
  • Thorough knowledge of NEC, IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA, IEC, and GCC authority standards including DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA, SEC, MEDC, and Civil Defense
  • Proven infrastructure engineering background with experience in primary substations 132-11 kV, HV corridors, distribution and pocket substations, feeder pillars, and MV-LV networks
  • Strong experience with DEWA standards including PSMP, PNOC, and Getting Electricity submissions
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM platforms, and Revit
  • Additional experience in power systems design, building services, and authority liaison is an advantage
  • DM or RTA approval and DEWA registration as electrical engineer is an added advantage
