We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of Production, UAT & Development Database management systems like Oracle RAC 19c, MSSQL Server 2016 and later versions and PostgreSQL. This person should be comfortable with automating all things and use agile methodology to solve day-to-day engineering problems.
Core Responsibilities:
Ensure the reliability, maintainability and efficiency of database systems (Oracle RAC/MS SQL Server/ PostgreSQL).
Responsible for the monitoring and uptime of all production databases.
Develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage.
Experience in Oracle Data guard (Active - Active ) & (Active - Passive).
Experience on SQL Server Always-on Availability groups, Distributed Availability groups and Failover Cluster.
Participate in application development projects and be responsible for the database architecture and design.
Participate in the creation of development, UAT, and production database instances, and the migration from one environment to another.
Responsible for regular backups and recovery of databases Using DataPump and RMAN.
Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Reindexing, Archiving).
Responsible for pro-active remediation of database operational problems.
Responsible for Query tuning and preventative maintenance.
Participate in a 24×7 support rotation.
Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need for downtime.
Responsible for the monitoring and uptime of all production databases.
Comfortable with writing system documentation and contributing to standards and procedures.
Experience with ERP is preferred and Teradata would be a plus.
The Following Experience Is Relevant To Us
7+ years of experience in running Oracle Preferred RAC and MS SQL Server in large production environments (preferred in Financial Sector).
Bachelor or Masters in computer science, IT or related fields.
Strong background and experience with AIX operating system experience (windows operating system experience is plus).
Good scripting experience (bash/python/PowerShell).
Have the ability to orchestrate and automate complex administrative tasks.
Have the ability to work under pressure.
