Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle and SQL Server databases supporting Ellucian Banner systems and related applications.
• Manage installation, configuration, and upgrades for Ellucian Banner version 9, including ORDS APIs, Ethos Identity Services, and third-party integrations.
• Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Perform database tuning and optimization through indexing, resource allocation, and query performance analysis.
• Implement and monitor high availability, replication, and clustering solutions across multiple database environments.
• Oversee database access management, security policies, and data encryption protocols to meet compliance standards.
• Automate database management tasks using Python, PowerShell, or other scripting tools to enhance efficiency.
• Design and maintain normalized database schemas, ensuring data consistency and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support system upgrades and integrations.
• Manage databases deployed on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator working with Oracle and SQL Server.
• Proven experience managing Ellucian Banner Student Information System databases.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and administration principles.
• Expertise in SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in backup and recovery management, replication, and high availability configurations.
• Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB is an advantage.
• Experience managing cloud-based databases and infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
