Job Description

Job Purpose (1) Lead negotiator for transactions,excluding exceptionally complex transactions. (2) Overseeing quality of junior output, (4) Senior liaison point with business on the above. (5) Supporting the Al Tayer Group legal function by providing legal expertise and services, including: (6) (i) supporting the internal business units in strategy and execution of corporate objectives; (ii) reviewing, amending and approving legal structures and contracting methods; (iii) providing subject matter expertise for compliance and governance; (iv) leading contractual negotiations with external lawyers and/or counterparties; and (v) ensuring the CXO/Director level signatories within the Group are fully aware of the risks, mitigations and key legal issues in any contractual commitment for the Group.

Job Requirements Education/Certification and Continued EducationGraduate degree or above - ideally in law (or law plus conversion)

Years of ExperienceMinimum 8 - 10 years' post-qualified experience (minimum 10 years' overall experience)

LanguagesFluent English

Additional RequirementsHistoric experience of either 'top tier' international law firm or complex regional in-house role at a pedigree and relevant organisation.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Strategic Roles and Responsibilities OfficerDriveShow initiative in relation to the formulation of strategic goals and their practical implementation. Drafting oversight and control in relation to all transactions except exceptionally complex transactions. Policeman ensuring compliance with relevant laws and industry best practice. Retaining contacts with seniorkey external legal experts in relation to all matters requiring specialist expert advice.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities Work closely with Chief Legal Officer and [ELCs] [SLCs] in ensuring legal concerns requiring senior level input are addressed as soon as possible. Lead contract negotiations with principals, suppliers and legal counsel of counter parties (non-Arabic). Investigate legal claims and complaints by or against the Group (non-Arabic), prepare analysis to ensure that top management is made aware of all aspects of the claim/allegations. inHelp drive the formation of new businesses and verticals, in conjunction with [ELCs][SLCs] and the CLO. Oversee final terms and conditions for all key contracts between the Group and other parties and provide to CLO for final approval. Participate in management meetings as required and offer legal opinion on any discussed issue. Advise heads of department and key management on legal matters pertaining to their responsibilities, potential liabilities, exposures and fully any matters necessary for making informed decisions within their capacities in line with relevant SoAs. Comprehensively and succinctly synthesise large volumes of information. Meticulous attention to detail. Company governance awareness and ability to draft company governance documentation, including MoAs. Solution orientated in a practical and compliant manner, in line with corporate governance and principles. Ability to understand basic key financial documentation for businesses such as balance sheets, profit and loss accounts and matters driving costs/profits.
