Senior Core Banking Data Migration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Core Banking Data Migration Specialist to lead and manage complex data migration projects for the core banking systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, strategizing, executing, and overseeing the migration of critical banking data from legacy systems to modern core banking platforms, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with banking regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of core banking solutions, data architecture, and the challenges of banking data migration.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Data Migration Projects: Oversee the end-to-end data migration process, including scoping, planning, execution, testing, and implementation.

Data Mapping and Transformation: Define and design data mapping from legacy systems to new core banking systems.

Data Quality Assurance: Lead data validation and reconciliation efforts post-migration to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the migrated data.

Stakeholder Management: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to understand data migration requirements and manage expectations.

Testing and Troubleshooting: Plan and execute data migration testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and UAT.

Documentation and Compliance: Document data migration processes, methodologies, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with data migration activities.

Team Leadership and Mentoring: Lead and mentor junior team members involved in data migration activities.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

8+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of specific experience in banking data migration projects.

In-depth understanding of core banking platforms (e.g., Temenos T24, Oracle FLEXCUBE, Finacle, etc.) and their data structures.

Proven track record of leading successful data migration projects within banking/financial institutions.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of data migration methodologies and tools (ETL tools, SQL, etc.).

Experience with database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).

Familiarity with cloud-based migration strategies (AWS, Azure) and data security protocols.

Preferred Skills

Experience in Agile or Waterfall project management methodologies.

Knowledge of banking regulations, especially in data governance, privacy, and compliance (GDPR, PCI DSS).

Familiarity with modern core banking systems upgrades or replacements.
