Wood is looking for Senior Construction Workpack Engineer (E&I) position to strengthen our team in Dubai.
Provide leadership of the Project Construction Team in development and schedule of workpacks to meet contractual KPI targets
Manage resource issues for workpack team and identify to Project Engineers missing discipline deliverables that might impact KPIs
Manage and review schedule concerning worpacks and constructability reviews
Review project scope at proposal stage, breaking down all construction activities on workpacks
Progressing construction engineering CTRs and reporting progress
Preparation of Constructability Review Terms of Reference
Chair constructability reviews and Construction Readiness reviews
Compile and Issue report
Manage and close actions from constructability
Preparation of construction work packs
Input to test workpacks where applicable.
Provide constructability input into engineering design where appropriate.
Liaison with surveyors to obtain information and to co-ordinate survey requests.
Support the interface with Construction at site.
Actively train and encourage the development of Junior staff to fulfil construction engineer roles.
Participate in client meetings relating to construction and fabrication items
Coordinate with fabrication coordinators
Provide site support to clients construction team as required to answer site queries promptly
Managing preparation of construction Bill of Quantities;
Preparation of ITRs in GoCompletion system for Mechanical completion and Pre-commissioning activities
Undertake visits to Iraq facilities to liaise with Client and Construction Supervisors.
Principal Responsibilities
Provide the leadership and management of the Project Construction Team
Provision of construction input to workpacks to ensure a quality deliverable is produced.
Assure constructability aspects of design are addressed.
Assure quality and consistency of workpacks
Review engineering design deliverables and give comments relating to constructability
Skills / Qualifications:
Technical / Business Skills
Shall have worked as a construction engineer or supervisor on offshore or onshore Brownfield/Greenfield modifications work.
Shall be experienced in taking engineering design deliverables and developing the necessary construction input into a work pack, including preparation of job cards and HSE revue/documentation
Competencies:
Ability to work unsupervised.
PC Literate.
The candidate must have an awareness of Electrical & Instrumentation engineering deliverables, familiar with Electical & Instrumentation Drawings.
The candidate will be able to demonstrate good safety awareness.
The candidate should have been fluent in the English language.
Business & Industry Experience:
Minimum of 12 years’ experience, 10 years of which in a construction role in offshore/onshore brownfield/greenfield construction.
Familiarity with WPS or similar Job Card system an advantage, training will be provided.
Educational Attainments
Discipline technical qualification.
