Position Overview
The Senior Construction Engineer supports the Resident Engineer and Project Manager in delivering complex infrastructure and transportation projects in Dubai. The role provides strong technical leadership on site, oversees contractor performance, ensures compliance with authority requirements, and drives high standards of quality, safety, and project delivery across all construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate shutdown procedures, service disconnections, diversions, and reinstatement activities
• Support authority inspections and handover processes to ensure smooth project closeout and acceptance
• Review inspectors' daily reports and oversee site supervision activities and work assignments
• Review and comment on contractor shop drawings and technical submittals as delegated by the Resident Engineer
• Coordinate with contractor supervisory teams on work sequencing, methods, and schedules
• Review as-built drawings in coordination with inspectors and surveyors
• Witness laboratory and field tests and verify compliance of test results
• Identify, record, and report non-conformances and support corrective actions
• Assist in preparation of punch lists and coordinate field inspections
• Participate as a key member of the project leadership team, engaging with clients and stakeholders
• Monitor contractor progress, resources, equipment, materials, and subcontractor performance
• Ensure works comply with employer requirements, project specifications, authority standards, and health and safety regulations
• Review contractor design submissions for compliance with local and international standards
• Identify schedule slippages early and support recovery planning with the contractor
• Analyze value engineering proposals and construction claims
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports covering construction status, testing, materials, and quality issues
• Support resolution of technical and construction-related issues on site

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the Architectural, Engineering and Planning industry
• Experience working with a top-tier regional or multinational engineering consultancy
• Strong background in construction supervision, design coordination, or authority liaison roles
• Proven experience coordinating with authorities on large-scale Dubai projects
• Strong technical ability to interpret drawings, survey data, and engineering submittals
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide site teams and contractors
• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience within Dubai projects is preferred
