Jacobs Ports and Maritime team are growing and have recently been awarded projects which include Port and Harbour expansion design, large and small Waterfront Developments and Coastal Strategy/Planning Studies. As a Senior or Principal Coastal Modeler, you will have the opportunity to serve as lead or team member on several projects and apply your deep knowledge of metocean data analysis, wave and hydrodynamic modeling, sediment transport in two-dimensions, as well as related coastal processes including alongshore and cross-shore sediment transport, heat/salinity transport, flushing studies, oil spill modeling, etc., to projects within the Middle East region and globally. In addition, your duties will be to:
You will coordinate, guide and monitor the relevant project tasks and deliverables related to the coastal processes scope and interact effectively with all relevant parties, ensuring collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders and others such as ocean, coastal and environmental authorities to steward the completion of tasks and projects within budget and schedule. One of your key priorities will include task and project ownership, stakeholder management, and providing support to port, maritime, and coastal engineering design. You will have autonomy over performing and / or reviewing and approving coastal processes numerical modeling and physical model testing related computations as well as any required pre- and post-modeling calculations, generating design criteria, advising on design drawings and specifications and to oversee the metocean elements of port and coastal developments, as well as marine coastal infrastructure components within the affiliated water and wastewater, infrastructure, urban planning and transportation businesses with Jacobs.
You will be responsible for the technical delivery of the tasks or projects including report writing and planning and scheduling of project deliverables. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of the business through writing of technical scope, planning schedules and developing budgets for coastal processes and related infrastructure tasks and projects.
Qualifications
As a successful candidate you will have an advanced degree in Mathematics, Science or Engineering (MS or PhD preferred from a recognized University. You will have experience in major infrastructure projects preferably within ports, marine and coastal engineering delivery functions. You will also possess: -
