to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transforming initial design concepts into accurate and comprehensive CAD drawings. The role requires strong technical drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to guide and review the work of other drafting technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and adhere to project-specific CAD standards.
Plan and deliver all drawings required for project submissions and handover.
Prepare accurate engineering CAD drawings from sketches, markups, or field notes.
Compile and draft complete construction plans under general supervision.
Produce field sketches as needed.
Assign, review, and check drawings prepared by CAD and Junior CAD Technicians.
Ensure consistent application of drawing management, revision control, naming, and storage procedures.
Draft complex electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical services drawings.
Collaborate with engineers and project team members to clarify design details.
Work with various drawing and model formats (2D & 3D).
Perform thorough self-checks to ensure quality and minimize rework.
Prepare plot files and operate plotting equipment.
Participate in departmental or project meetings, technical reviews, and safety reviews when required.
Continuously enhance drafting knowledge and interpersonal skills.
Carry out additional duties as assigned by the company.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Diploma in Engineering Technology (any discipline)
OR
Trade Certification (ITI).
Proficiency in 2D CAD drafting using software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Smart Sketch, or similar.
Desirable:
Experience working with 3D models and generating drawings from 3D environments.
Experience:
5-7 years of relevant drafting experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience leading one or more draftsmen in a project environment.
Skills Required
Strong knowledge of drafting standards and design conventions.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.
Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work with multiple CAD formats and tools.
Must be freelancer with Valid QID
