Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Senior Aviation Planner** to join our team! The Senior Expert in Airport Planning is a seasoned professional with an extensive background in airport development, design, and management. In this role, you will lead and contribute to strategic airport planning initiatives, ensuring that projects are aligned with industry best practices, safety standards, and sustainable growth objectives. Your expertise will guide the efficient utilization of resources, enhance passenger experience, and shape the future of airport facilities.

**What You'll Be Doing:**

+ Represents the client in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings.

+ Lead the development and execution of long-term airport master plans, considering factors like passenger growth, technological advancements, and operational efficiency.

+ Provide visionary insights to guide the expansion, modernization, and optimization of airport infrastructure.

+ Oversee airport planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.

+ Provide mentorship and guidance to project teams, sharing best practices and lessons learned.

+ Collaborate with architects, engineers, and urban planners to create comprehensive airport layouts that facilitate seamless passenger flows, aircraft operations, and terminal functionalities.

+ Review and approve design proposals, ensuring alignment with aviation regulations and industry standards.

+ Conduct thorough analyses of airport capacity and demand, utilizing simulation tools and data to optimize terminal layouts, runway configurations, and apron design.

+ Collaborate with aviation authorities, airlines, regulatory agencies, and local communities to foster effective communication and stakeholder alignment.

+ Present and advocate for airport development plans to diverse audiences, addressing concerns and promoting understanding.

+ Ensure that airport planning projects adhere to aviation safety regulations, security protocols, and environmental standards.

+ Implement measures to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of airport operations.

+ Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in airport planning and design.

+ Integrate innovative solutions and digital tools to enhance airport operations and passenger experience.

+ Develop and manage budgets for airport planning projects, optimizing resource allocation and tracking expenses.

+ Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to secure necessary resources for project execution.

+ Conduct research and analysis on airport industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to inform decision-making and strategy.

**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Airport Management, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field (advanced degrees preferred).

+ Comprehensive knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and international best practices.

+ Proficiency in airport planning software, GIS tools, CAD software, and relevant technologies.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

+ Ethical and professional conduct, with a commitment to safety and quality.

+ Extensive experience in airport planning, design, and development, with a proven track record of successful project leadership.
