Job Description
Disney Middle East is hiring a Senior Attorney to support the Associate Principal Counsel in providing day-to-day strategic and commercial legal advice to multiple business lines in the Middle East and North Africa. Ensuring compliance of all the businesses in the region with local laws and regulatory requirements and internal company compliance policies.
For certain businesses and specialised areas of law, the Senior Attorney will work closely with and support other members of the EMEA Legal team and CPC APAC lawyers. The Opportunity & Responsibilities:
For certain businesses and specialised areas of law, the Senior Attorney will work closely with and support other members of the EMEA Legal team and CPC APAC lawyers. The Opportunity & Responsibilities:
- Legal support to the following businesses and functions;
- Marketing, Ad Sales, Promotions and Events – including drafting T&Cs for competitions, engaging social influencers, PR and marketing agencies,
- Consumer Products, Games and Publishing,
- Media Networks - regulatory, program acquisition, advertising arrangements, marketing initiatives,
- Disney+ - assisting with compliance, advertising and marketing review,
- General business operations and infrastructure.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance across all businesses e.g. competition law, consumer law, health and safety, environmental law
- Maintenance of all local legal entities and corresponding corporate work, including trade licenses, corporate governance
- Working closely with the following groups that provide direct support to the businesses;
- Privacy
- Tax
- Real Estate
- Enterprise technology
- Provide up-to-date knowhow on all applicable law legal matters to the business and legal department
- Be part of all relevant business meetings.
- Support in the provision of contract templates across all lines of business and contractual commitments of the business.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date folders and databases in respect of templates and transactions both locally and on any regional databases.
- Instruct external counsel where necessary and manage outside counsel budgets.
- Qualified as a member of the UK or other applicably relevant Bar,
- LLB or Degree,
- Proven experience in a similar level role and ideally covering at least some of the substantive areas of responsibility,
- Advertising and marketing law experience, including rules and regulations on running competitions,
- Consumer products licensing experience,
- Some experience of DTC/digital/OTT services is preferable, ideally with an understanding of data privacy and consumer marketing concerns.
- Ability to draft from scratch to address new and challenging issues
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage a portfolio of contracts
- Understanding of different contractual types and structures.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Methodical and meticulous.
- Communication of legal matters to non-legal audiences.
- Engages colleagues across the organization to optimize performance
- Manages the needs of diverse stakeholders
- Resolves conflicts effectively
- Interacts well with people who have different backgrounds and work styles

- Travel across the region may be required
- Arabic speaking preferred but not required
