Senior Asset Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Asset Engineer will act as the lead technical champion in their field (i.e. Rolling Stock, Signalling & Systems, Track, Civils, MEP or other) for the for the Engineering team that drive support and improvements into the front line maintenance teams for the wider E&M group.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist and deputise when required for the Engineering Manager in general Engineering principles and process.
  • Act as designated competent person for historical area of expertise (ie Rolling Stock, Signalling & Systems, MEP, Track, Civils).
  • Analyse asset performance to analyse and identify emerging trends, determine effectiveness of existing maintenance regime, and make appropriate recommendations to departments to address observed outcomes or to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Analyse and provide directions for maintenance regime improvement in the system. Drive those improvement changes while agreed by providing the necessary documentation and assurance to get them approved internally and by RTA.
  • Develop and update documentation and processes, including work instructions, procedures and training materials, to support changes in working practices or methodologies, and development of new documents as identified.
  • Proactively review and monitor KPIs to ensure adherence, and highlight any deviations to support the business to implement appropriate actions or decisions.
  • Support the implementation of new technology to ensure compliance via the change management process.
  • Devise Strategy and implement changes autonomously.
  • Support the development of complex data modelling and analysis initiatives to enhance data and reporting capabilities, incorporating automation and development of dashboards and visualisations.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to members of the team, including encouraging best practice in data analysis and modelling techniques.
  • support Statistical, Qualitative, Quantative and the development of Predictive analysis on data sources pertinent to the operational performance of assets across the Dubai Metro, incorporating benchmarking against international standards.
  • Support where required all necessary tasks to support production of all contractual and internal KPI reporting requirements, incorporating review to ensure consistency and accuracy prior to submission within stipulated timescales.
  • Assist in the development of business cases to support strategic investment in systems, processes and/or solutions to enhance data and reporting capabilities.
  • Support development and enhancement of RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) analysis and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvements aligned to the FRACAS process and ensure Engineering Technical Investigations are done in a timely manner with traceable actions aligned to improvement.
  • Support and develop the Asset Engineers and with a view to long term.
  • Be point of Contact and Fully support Failure Review Boards (FRB) for the areas of technical expertise.
  • Be the Designated Competent Person in relation to Change Management and the ACCA process.
  • Drive the ownership and closure of the take over process (PTOC).
  • Working in conjunction with the Engineering Project Department and Program Management office to ensure a smooth transition of projects into Engineering.
  • Analyse Maintenance to ensure spares and consumables are in stock when required.
  • Lead complex projects in support of new or evolving processes/products or for initiatives with cross-functional or organization-wide impact.
  • Perform and carry out ad-hoc analysis and other duties as instructed/directed/agreed with the with the Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering, Head of Production or the E&M Director.
  • Analyse Asset management and drive improvements to ensure compliance to ISO55001.
  • Cable of using Auto CAD to support drawing updates as and when.
  • Ensure security and integrity of all data provided including reporting performance, finance and customer information; reference Keolis-MHI non-disclosure policy.
  • To exercise personal duty of care for their own health, safety and welfare and for those affected by their acts or omissions; reference SMS GSOP-HSE1-6 Keolis-MHI organizational HSE responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all training requirements of Keolis-MHI and ensure adherence to these requirements at all times whilst in employment.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, breaches or potential breaches to appropriate management or the speak up process.
  • Performing on-call when required for area of technical expertise.

  • Ability to communicate, motivate, develop and performance manage staff.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills to manage and interpret data with an ability to integrate, structure, and analyse large and complex datasets and sources to translate findings into compelling insights and proposals.
  • Ability to understand complex systems and willingness to learn new software-based applications and ways of working.
  • Microsoft Excel, including development of formulas, macros and VBA scripts.
  • Able to present well to senior management on complex topics using a presentation tool.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to develop detailed documents and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to apply methodical and logical approach to make appropriate recommendations and/or implement appropriate solutions.
  • Self-motivated and resilient, with an ability to efficiently manage and prioritise multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated workloads.

EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a system Engineer (Rolling Stock, Signalling and Systems, Civils, MEP, Other)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience of stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated experience of maintenance development and asset plans.
  • Knowledge and application of RAMS, FRB, Change Management, Projects and assurance.
  • Experience of Complex technical problems.
  • Experience in Rail Projects and Advantage.
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFCATION
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Engineering or related discipline.
