Job Summary:

The Senior Architect will be responsible for the full lifecycle of architectural design within Mira Construction's projects, from conceptualization and schematic design through to construction documentation and site supervision. This role requires strong creative vision, technical proficiency, adherence to local regulations, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and contribute to the conceptualization and development of architectural designs for various projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use, etc.). Prepare schematic designs, design development drawings, and detailed construction documentation (including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules). Develop design presentations for client reviews, incorporating feedback and ensuring design intent is maintained. Select appropriate materials, finishes, and building systems that meet design, budget, and performance requirements. Integrate sustainable design principles and innovative solutions into projects.

Code Compliance & Regulations:

Ensure all designs comply with Dubai Municipality building codes, regulations, zoning laws, and international standards. Prepare and submit documentation required for obtaining necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities (e.g., Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense). Address and resolve any comments or rejections from authorities during the approval process.

Coordination & Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with internal project managers, structural engineers, MEP engineers, landscape architects, and other consultants to ensure integrated and coordinated designs. Liaise directly with clients to understand their needs, present design options, and manage expectations. Work with the tendering and procurement teams to provide design clarifications and support the selection of contractors and suppliers. Participate in value engineering exercises to optimize design solutions without compromising quality or intent.

Construction Administration & Site Support:

Conduct regular site visits during the construction phase to monitor adherence to design specifications and quality standards. Review shop drawings, material samples, and mock-ups submitted by contractors for compliance with design intent and specifications. Provide timely responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors and issue site instructions as required. Collaborate with the Site Engineer to resolve on-site design-related issues and propose practical solutions. Prepare and review as-built drawings at project completion.

Project Management Support & Documentation:

Assist in defining project scopes, objectives, and deliverables. Contribute to project planning and scheduling, ensuring design milestones are met. Maintain organized project files, design records, and communication logs. Prepare project reports and presentations as required.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognized and accredited university.

Experience:

Minimum 7-10 years of local progressive experience as an Architect, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in diverse building types in the UAE.

Software Proficiency:

Expertise in AutoCAD. Advanced proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Revit, ArchiCAD). Strong skills in 3D modeling and rendering software (e.g., SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion). Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for presentations and graphics.

Technical Knowledge:

Comprehensive understanding of building materials, construction methods, and structural systems. In-depth knowledge of Dubai Municipality building codes, regulations, and approval processes. Strong understanding of sustainable design principles and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, Estidama) is highly desirable.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional design flair, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
