Job Purpose
The job will provide financial analysis and strategic advice to support the company\xe2\x80\x99s investment decisions. The Senior Analyst - Investment Planning will work closely with the Senior Manager - Investment Planning and other stakeholders to evaluate the feasibility, profitability, and risks of various investment opportunities and projects.

  • Conduct financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence for potential investments, using various methods such as discounted cash flow, net present value, internal rate of return, payback period, etc.
  • Prepare business cases, investment proposals, and presentations for senior management and board approval, highlighting the key assumptions, financial projections, risks, and mitigations of each investment opportunity.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of existing investments and projects, identifying any deviations from the expected outcomes and recommending corrective actions or exit strategies if needed.
  • Communicate the planning progress of network related programmes and business cases

Development of Investment for company\'s Portfolio20%
  • Research and analyze market trends, industry dynamics, competitors, and regulatory developments to identify areas of improvement for the company\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as finance, legal, operations, engineering, and marketing to ensure alignment and coordination of investment planning activities and objectives
  • Liaise with project stakeholders (Project Managers, SMEs, Design, Research, SM, Fit-Out) to produce business cases that identify various resolution options for issues and opportunities, including benefit mapping, cost benefit analysis, delivery plan and risk analysis (Business Case Development)
  • Guide project managers and business owners through the development of project change requests related to variations in scope or budget (Change Request Development)
  • Collaborate with business owners to conduct post implementation review of project benefits in context of the original business cases (Benefit Reviews)

Portfolio Prioritisation and Investment Planning Activities20%
  • Develop a methodology for portfolio prioritization and ensure the ongoing portfolio or/and investment scenarios are kept up to date. Propose changes to the prioritized portfolio based on agreed criteria.
  • Ensure the Investment Planning Tracker is up to date, including BC development pipeline, resourcing information, Investment Committee decisions and latest status changes from change requests
  • Ensure Radar (Portfolio Management System) information is up to date in line with project approval statuses and planning progress for all projects in the \xe2\x80\x98Assessment of Needs\xe2\x80\x99 phase of the project lifecycle
  • Ensure regular reporting on the status of business case production and performance of the Investment Committee

Investment Committee Meeting 20%
Prepare agenda and documents for the monthly Investment Committee Meeting

  • Plan and manage the meeting pack, including the consolidation of inputs by other owners
  • Ensure the reediness and the preparation of business owner
  • Present various content sections within the Investment Committee meeting
  • Prepare, issue and follow up on post meeting actions and minutes

Improvement of Governance, Processes and Templates 10%
  • Periodically monitor IP templates and governance to identify and implement improvements to the process or templates
  • Ensure collaboration between investment planning, PMO and Programme team within the end to end process
