Communication



Internal Communication:



Manager - Corporate Quality and Environment Business Unit operations and HSE Managers Milaha personnel

Purpose:



To support the development of a positive environment culture within Milaha To support the implementation of the environment strategy To report to manager on environment performance across the organization and the progress of key projects and activities aimed at improving this performance To assess compliance with legal and other obligations and international best-practice relevant to environment management Clients, External certification bodies Contractors To raise the profile of Milaha as an organization proactively driving improvement in environment performance

External Communication:



Purpose:



Occupational Health & Safety and Environment



Accountability:



Are accountable for their acts and omissions.


Responsibility:



To follow agreed safe systems of work; to follow training and instructions; and to report incidents and near misses.


Authority:



To stop work if they think the work poses a risk to people, the environment, assets or reputation.



Education & Professional Qualification:



- Bachelors Degree in an environment-related subject; or


- Bachelors Degree in any subject and a further qualification (e.g. Diploma) in an environment-related subject


- Auditor qualification (preferred Lead Auditor) for ISO14001 framework


Professional Experience:



- 4-6 years of relevant experience


- Demonstrable experience of working with data


Geographic Experience:



- MENA experience an advantage


Computer Skills:



- Good knowledge of MS Office and web applications


Language Skills:



- Business fluent spoken and written English


- Business fluent Arabic an advantage


Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:



- Sound knowledge of international best-practices for environmental management


- Data analysis skills


- Audit and inspection experience



Key Roles & Responsibilities



Support environment team in driving the implementation of the organization's environment strategy Drive continual improvement in Milaha's environment performance through active engagement with operational Departments and Business Units ensuring the appropriate implementation of environment initiatives and programs As directed, support engagements with internal and external stakeholders including clients, trade associations, governmental and non-governmental institutions to enhance Milaha's profile as an organization proactively driving improvements in environmental performance Ensure the correct implementation of protocols for environmental data collection, verification, analysis, monitoring and reporting through periodic verification and validation activities As directed, support the environment team to address requests for information and/or other relevant support in a timely manner (e.g. client requests, tenders, investigations, etc.) Support environment reporting in line with international and local standards and global best practices (e.g., Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) or others, QSE ESG Guidance) by ensuring data reporting protocols are being correctly implemented Support the promotion of a positive culture of sustainability in Milaha through preparation of communications and participation in consultations, initiatives, meetings and activities as directed Identify non-compliance with regulatory and other obligations, international standards, industry best practices and internal HSSEQ procedures through periodic audits and inspections Reporting to line manager on Milaha's environmental performance Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Decision Making Authority



Autonomous authority to enact a 'stop work' on operational activities at any point where they have a reasonable expectation that an event could occur which would result in injury, environmental effect or damage to property.


May undertake whatever corrective action they feel reasonable at a given point in time to mitigate risk to people, environment or property.
